In a war, both sides are losers.

I don't think al queda in iraq ever made up the bulk of the insurgents? Did it?

our allies in iraq flip back and forth between enemy and friend

we could easily "win" if we acted just like Saddam and just killed everyone remotely related to the resitance, but then what?

No, I don't believe they did. I'm quite sure you had Sunnis, Kurds and Shia fighting for a piece of the new Iraq, committing genocide to settle old scores, and some people just fighting to get us out of their country.

Well, our government allies are the same people who bombed our embassy in Kuwait, and now force women to wear the veil.

We don't have any allies. Even the coalition of the billing has slowly dissolved.

They did not drop out cause they performed poorly, they dropped out to pursue their own thing. BIG DIFFERENCE between that performs poorly in college cause they are stupid and one the is smart and intelligent but drops out for other reasons. Tommy Franks was just plain stupid!

What did you expect? An ideal WAR? They will greet us as liberators blah blah blah... Thats what happens with poor planning, mismanagement, corruption, unjust wars, incompetent leaders.
Are you slowly but surely seeing how wrong you are? ;)

    You Bush wacked yet?

Actually for the most part we were greeted as liberators at the start of the war but being American and the only superpower that lead to some high expectation by the Iraqi people that we could deliver on and Yes there were mistakes in planning along the way.

Liberators???????? Do you believe the isolated clips on fox news during the invasion? Ask the iraqi people this. Not only did al queda
come in after the invasion but you have to account for the fact that there were many , many former saddam muhabarat in there and they were also planning insurgent plots. This explains why we wanted to recently enlist the help of some of these former agents to try to quell the war. The surge isnt whats helping here. As soon as our secret deals with iran fall apart or there is a disagreement, it will be back to its usual chaotic self in iraq.
Heck, we stood by as saddam was gassing his own people and killed many thousands of shiite iraqis right after the first gulf war. Do you think they trust saddam, do you think they trust us???????????????

Like i have told gtech and others, all u need to to do is stop watching fox news and ask the majority of the iraqi people that have come here what they feel about this war. You will be surprised at their answers. I have, and while they are anti saddam , do u think they trust our government?

they had an army already, and bremer and company disbanded it

sending thousands of trained vetrans into unemployment and basically creating the insurgency

this stuff just happened and people are already rewriting history

then the guy who help disband it was given a medal , I think

Good post. Was reading about that the other day. This is a devastating blow to those here who hoped for an al qaida victory against their country.

Violence in Iraq is down (except against terrorists) and many are disappointed.

It appears supporters of al qaida here, are already trying to rewrite history. Nope, they'd never be happy that al qaida is defeated in Iraq. Quite the opposite (as they are freely communicating).
