I was searching google and came around this article. It is about why you should create your own content instead of buying it for your website. I agree so much in the statments in the article that i though i should create a topic about it somewhere and then i came around this forum. Read the article and discuss it here at this board.

That really depends on what you want to get back on your investment. Web content is getting discussed on webmaster boards all the time, the most common question is always, "how much should I pay for web content?" By reading this article you will find out.

The biggest expense of any website, with the exceptions of advertising and promotion, is always the content. You have to get web development and design on your site only once, but content needs to be added regularly for your site to be successful on the internet. So maybe the question is not how much you are willing to pay, but how much time you are willing to spend and invest of time on your website.

You can always pay a web content writer that can increase your website earnings with a few dollars each month. But how much do you have to spend to get the expenses less then the earnings? You should create the content yourself, which will result in the earnings, over time, to be higher then the expenses. Off course this will take time, but if you are successful, it will often result in high earnings.

Do you think Bill Gates got rich in one day? No! Do you think he paid other people to create Windows? Well, maybe some of it is right, but if it was that easy everyone would be rich today. Maybe he got people to help him, but he had the ideas and he made the content. Still his earnings is much higher then his expenses. He did not buy content from other people. He had his own content and was doing the right things and look where he is now. Thats the same you should do with your website. Create your own content, do the right things and publish it.

Your expenses should only be for your advertising and promotions. If you really have to pay someone to create some of the content for you it has to be good quality content and nothing less. But as often quality content isn't cheap, if you create the content yourself the only price you pay for it is your time.

Conclusion in all this is then:
To earn more money then you spend on your website, the only thing you should spend most money on is advertising and promotions. You should create your own content and publish it when it is done. The more you work, the more you will earn.
