I have been thinking about making a blog on football and do articles on general issues that people maybe interested to do with football. Why is blogs so appealing? What makes them/yours good and how can they make you money? I just want the low down on it all ty.
Start a blog is you are a thinker of sorts and love writing If you are looking on a long term project then you should be able to write on the topic of the blog and real success comes when you update it regularly and write unique topics at times (thats the I am different factor). With practically millions of blogs out there, you need to be strong on ur content to generate the interest and build traffic. It no harm in starting one and seeing how it works out Making money can be tricky as you will first need to develop traffic and if you are looking to do paid postings then you will need a decent PR for the blog. Once you have traffic, selling ad space can be an option and you can make money of a PPC program like adsense
A successful blogger has to think different, cover new topics and also be the first to cover the latest in the niche.. If you write the same, not many people would like to visit "JUST ANOTHER BLOG"
Put it this way - everyone covers football - the newspapers, websites, many small blogs etc. Now this doesn't mean you should stop - you need to think about how you can do it differently. What can you offer people that's going to make them read your blog rather than read a newspaper article about football? If you need help with both the technical and writing aspects of the blog feel free to visit the link to a bulletin board in my signature where you'll get plenty of help to get started!
Well unique would be considered primarily new and fresh content. But it could also be unique in such a way on how you write about the subject from your personal opinion. Visit local games and report on them. Watch them on tv and report on them. You might see something from a different angle than someone else. BTW blogs are appealing because it is your opinion and others want to know what your take is on the product or subject matte. Everyone loves opinions or gossip depending on how one views it. Like I said you may see something from a different angle no one else caught.
Read the headlines every day on Yahoo and Google and find topics that you're interested in. Put a link to that news item in your blog and add your own perspective on the topic. Another approach is to find popular blogs in your area of interest and make compelling comments to their posts. Find high traffic blogs and leverage their success and in no time those readers will find your blog through your signature.
write about something unique, and put a fresh spin on it. Make it easy to understand and then just build a reader base. Once that happens, you have to make sure you keep having new articles with the same kind of content because that is what your readers will grow to love.
Definitely write about a topic that you enjoy. If you plan on doing your own writing, you want to write often and with enthusiasm. So, pick your topic, do research often, and share your thoughts. Good luck!
If you think you can come up with unique content, try coming up with a unique idea too for a blog. unique idea+unique content= money making blog
There's no set limit but at the very least 1 a week, although it's been said that if you can do 1 a day, it'll do wonders for the way search engines look at your blog. As a rule of thumb though, try getting at least 1 to 3 posts in a week.
How many times a week you should blog? Well that depends up to you and how much you have to say. I would say 1 - 5 times a week. You may also cut a bog post in 2 and do a part 1 on one day and part 2 on the following day. Make your blog posts everyother day. Which would probably come out to 3 to 5 posts a week.
Here's my top 3 reasons why blogs are appealing: RSS -- instead of readers going to a site, the site goes to them via content feeds. Also, easy to segment, search, and chop up this info. SEO -- Search engines like "fresh" info. Blogs' easy to follow update system fits with SE's preferences. Also, there's many plugins and features of Wordpress that allows you to optimize for SEs better. Web-friendly info -- Blog entries, normally, are episodic and have short "summary" leads. You read the title and read the short summary. If you like it, you click to get the full story. This "mullet" (short up front but long at the back) works well with how most people surf the web for info.
