who actually makes a living from adsense here? I mean, your full time job is running a website with adsense as revenue... If you do, could you say how you managed to make enough to live off with adsense and how long it took you?
Making your living off adsense is an incredibly stupid thing to do. What happens if you are banned, your site gets hacked, you loose internet connection?
Totally agree, cannot just depend on adsense but also maybe adbrite etc as a backup just in case. You will never know what happen given the number of bans given.
Hm, ok well what about anyone making a living off their websites using any ad network :/ Anyone do this?
Once you start relying on the internet to pay your bills, AdSense seems a bit risky. You always need a backup plan if you decide to make your bedroom your office and go to work in PJs. I do use it, but it's definitely not my #1 money maker. It does me well, though. Granted I may not have as many expenses as others do (I am in debt, however), but I am living a fairly decent life the way things are, and after this month... '08 looks very bright. With or without AdSense.
I want to do that. I haven't used Adbrite but I've just started using Bidvertiser. I'm trying to live of the net. Hope it works out
Do any of you who do earn alot from adsense have to pay taxes on what you earn? I know in the U.S it is taken off your adsense earnings automatically, but people living outside of U.S?
i'm making a living from adsense, also earning from mochiads, sedo, selling links and wordpress themes yeah that's true.
Ah, ok.. I heard in other threads its deducted automatically :/ I am in the UK but I think I have to do the same with my adsense earnings in a few years.. Not right now since I'm in full time education
I wish I could make a living out of the internet, but my earnings are not enough even to pay for my electric bill so I still need my day job.
have just started .. and i have great dreamz associated with adsense ! i have managed to get 203$ in 26 days!! hope for the next month it will be better till i get 4 figures earnings.
I am not earning much from adsense, but it brings me a good additional income so won't be happy if I loose it and rely only on the earnings from affiliate programs. However, adsense is not the only one PPC (although maybe the best), so you can always replace it. As for the taxes isn't internet an offshore zone? I am not declaring any income, but If I should, why in my country - I am selling/or publishing advertisements for entire world, my sites, affiliates as well as clients are for/from all over the world and I have no any physical presence in my country(european), except the hosting/smth that will be very easy to change../ Cheers
Just when I started making more money then my day job from Adsense I got banned for invalid clicks. Teaches you a very good lesson. So I said ***k you adsense and started looking for alternatives. Is it possible to live from net? Of course, but only if you are not a slacker and are willing to work really hard the first 4 to 5 months. And once you do start making the money, stop the hard work. By then you will know how to work SMART. And no, I dont make me living from net. And 2008 was a really crappy start for me all around
Yes, banned for invalid clicks is really stupid, I mean every your competitor can get you banned. G. guys should think out smth for that..if they care actually. Otherwise, I think the hard work never ends if you really want to have a good income from the internet!
Yes, we do make our living from our websites, with Adsense and affiliates. The way we did it... many many hours of work, for many months- commitment- not giving up in the early days when it never seemed like we'd get anywhere- quality content- good SEO- the right kind of sites... a combination of many things. How long... it took almost a year from first building the site to making enough to not have to worry if we'd have enough money to pay the bills, rent, food etc. We're doing ok now and it's just continuing the upward trend. Not in the lap of luxury yet... but we will be.
