Hi to all who read this,

I have been scammed so many times in this forum that i have started to loose my trust in forums. I know this is only because of some people who want quick money but because of this so many people like me are affected.

Please let me know what precautions do i take to avoid such instances again.

Thank you for your Help in advance.

Do your homework before dealing with ANYONE around here. Do this by:

    - Checking their entire iTrader history
    - Performing a search on their username here and with Google
    - Performing a search on their email addy with Google

If possible deal with only longstanding members, with good rep and good iTrader.
If you're not sure then ask - feel free to PM me because I have a good memory for rotten eggs around here!

    thanks for asking,

I was first scammed when someone asked to post and said will pay $5 for 30 post i did and was not paid, not only me but also there about 10-15 people who were not paid. This guy/girl/gay metaphysicist said he will give ebook for $6 and took my money and since then he is off line. I am sure he wll have one more account and will be building his post count and itrade to scam again to people like me. How to trace these people and avoid them? is there a way at all?
I have also read about alice who took $100 for 20 people and scammed them. and alice had good rep and itrade.

This is pretty good advice, and very basic steps which people with enough common sense would take.

Checking their post history may also be usefull, you may be able to learn a thing or two from the way they post, ie txt tlking, poor english etc - not saying all the scammers have poor english of course but in my experience a lot of them do have poor english.
Also if they are in the habit of upsetting others frequently then you may want to think twice before dealing with them.

CountryBoys post is really useful :)

I've never been scammed for money on here (just time :/) but I'm still scared to purchase anything with all the negative stories going around. The latest hijacking attempts have only made it worse. Anyways, I think there are still plenty of honest people around here or nobody would be doing business.. :)

Checking a users posts could also be helpful, that way you can get a basic idea of what kind of person they are.

Post count and itrader are good clues. I doubt any established members will scam someone for $6
