Should I remove adsense on all my sites?

Okay I think I have a severe case of smart pricing I mean sites that used to do 10-15 cents per click are down to 1. Across my whole account I'm averaging 1.9 cents per click. I'm tempted to remove adsense from all my sites for a week and then replace the ads. I read somewhere that google redoes smartpricing every week. Do you think it would be worth it or do you think it would just be a waste and I should be happy with my 1.9 cents per click? Also has anyone actually tired this? Is it just a waste?

i saw somewhere that instead of removing the entire code, just remove the publisher ID and putting it back in few days does the trick. i have not tried this method and not sure its within TOS or not

Google became so stupid as to fall for this when????

Try to remember these are CS Engineers of which 1 or 2 would have some common sense and realize people would try to do things as mentioned above.

BRD you I would think should know that this would see a temporary increase, but you'll be back to being smartpriced soon.

PM Me if you want a work around.

Yeah I know it will go back down but I would have 1-2 week(s) of not being smart priced. What's to say that my current traffic is converting well, but because traffic in the past didn't convert that's why I was smart priced? I wish they told you like in your account if you were smartpriced or not, or they could do the smart thing and only smart price 1 domain not the whole account.

Where is 1 to 2 weeks going to get you....you'll spend an eternity going back and forth with them......sort of like being at a drag race and spinning your wheels while the competition is smoking down the track at 110mph.

If your conversion percentage increases then they will pull you back from smartpricing.

They do tell you by paying you pennies for clicks....not the most direct communication method but with millions of publishes to contend with they do not have time to go through each account and tell webmasters what is what.

Also from my experience smart pricing is per site and not for an entire account. However I also have over 50 sites in 38 different categories in the program... so that may be a reason I don't see it spread to the other sites.

Again feel free to PM for work around.

    1,9 cent / click?
    That's really bad.

I would remove AdSense and try TribalFusion, WidgetBucks, even Kontera.
It's even better if those sites are mini-niches. In that case affiliate programs will perform nicely too.

Well I have other companies on my sites which perform decent but not adsense. No matter what I do I can't get out of the 1.9 cent range. Although I have an article site and every now and then I will average like 4 cents per click =O.

It's been like this for over a year now. If it's going to go up hopefully it does it soon.

There is no harm just leaving the code around taking it out and putting it back later takes time which can be spend better in promoting your sites or enhancing the contents

Dumb question(s): Smart price is when your ctr is too low. Correct? What ctr is low enough to warrant smart pricing? 1%? .5%?

Thanks, and sorry this happened to you. That must really suck. I would be tempted to dump adsense.

No smartpricing is something that you can't controll. It's when a user clicks on the ads and they don't convert after clicking on the ads. So say an add of mine was for like a dating website or something and the user clicks on the ads and doesn't purchase a membership then I get penalized for that. Even though I have no control over what the user does. I was also banned from yahoo ypn for not converting my clicks which was also stupid.

So google penalizes you because the ads they placed on your site did not do as well as they thought they should? Wow! I had no idea. Thanks for sharing that.

    Man, that does suck.

Yep exactly. Your job is to not only get people to click on the ads you also have to make them buy something or google will penalize you lol. I'm going to put on my sites in big words "Only click on the ads if you play to buy something" lol.

    I'm in the same boat.

    November 2007
    Clicks Sent: 6,293
    Revenue Generated: $1,515.15

    December 2007
    Clicks Sent: 6,404
    Revenue Generated: $940.24

    January 1st to January 26th 2008
    Clicks Sent: 7,449
    Revenue Generated: $359.23

CPX 728x90 leaderboard went from 0.14 CPM to 0.01 CPM for me over that span too. I guess my visitors must suck. On pace to lose about $500 on the server costs now :)

Do you have any adsense tracking tools like a javascript plugin for analytics ?

Or if you have your own PHP site, there is a php software which tracks your adsense clicks and blocks it if some IP address repeatedly clicks. maybe somebody tried invalid clicks on your sites ???

So I replaced all my adsense ads with cpxinteractive ads and I've seen almost a 600% increase in revenue.
