Hello everybody, What do you use to build your website without writing code? i use bluevoda website builder, does any body knows a better FREE website builder that you can use without coding? i don't need db or advanced stuff in my website, just basic one. Thanks
We use a combination of Visual Studio 2005 (not free) and Visual Web Developer Express 2008 (free - will get Studio 2008 before too long undoubtably) but obviously as developers rather than designers we still write a lot of code as well as it is generally quicker and secondly you can only program so much with drag and drop/ drop down menus etc
I used Photoshop to design, and Dreamweaver 8 to code, mostly as a code highlighting tool and FTP manager, WYSIWYG part of DW sucks.
I use TextPad (a text editor) and a CMS program made by myself. Sometimes I use AceHtml as an aid for syntax checking and things like that. I used Homesite years ago.
Thank you guying for you answer, but most of the softwares you use are not free I one tried to use Joomla, but i found it has a problem with SEO, the problem is, i use wrappers in all my pages, because i don't like editing pages with joomla tools, so unfortunately google ends up indexing these wrapped pages without indexing the header and menus of the page, so when you find the page to google you go to the website without seeing its header or menus, does any body have a solutiong for this problem? Thanks
Just notepad for me Always used it, never used editors or anything like that.. Self taught too like most others... Probably learned the hard way, but that's probably the way you remember things the most! Good luck in your quest for your editor!
Dreamweaver. I sort of bend the rules a bit, like typing in "hspace" in my tables, since Dreamweaver - the version I have - only does "hspace" for images. At least IE and Firefox interpret it the way I intended. My methods are slightly crude, but at least they work and I've saved a ton of money by not having to pay for all my website changes. So I'm satisfied for now.
you can enable a SEO friendly url in joomla..try to find it in configuration..but before that you have to do some editing in the .htaccess file. good luck
well, to answer the question, I use Dreamweaver to do PHP and stuff Microsoft Expression Web to do xhtml and css sometimes, PHP Professional to do PHP (it's lighter than DW)
I'm just learning, I use notepad to try out my html and I use photoshop for colors, images, etc. I have Dreamweaver and fireworks but haven't worked with them yet.
