    How the heck do I get the cell padding to zero so I don't see the line around the cells which contain images?

    Thanks

    Edit: I'm using Dreamweaver CS3

    Here is what I am talking about:

    Also, why are the cells not to the absolute left & right?

    This is just a placeholder until I start class, so yes, I know it looks like hell :)

    Well, I haven't used dreamweaver in years but as far as I remeber at the very bottom of dreamweaver there was a window called properties. I believe that cellpadding etc was in that section.

    Now, is the data you are displaying of tabular nature?..... No, so why are you using a table? Learn how to combine HTML and CSS properly to control the layouts and then you won't have the issues you are currently facing.

    And, if you have the time, i strongly recommend that you learn at least the basics of HTML so that you don't have to reply on the WYSIWYG editor in dreamweaver.

    Checking the source code of your page, I noticed your border was set to border="o". (Thats the letter "O", not a zero). The proper syntax would be border="0" (zero). Changing this on both tables will remove the border.

    It should not be a cellpadding problem as the default padding if not specified is 0 anyways.

    If you were interested in a controlable table, padding, spacing & border, the proper syntax would be something to the tune of:

    <table width="1024" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> Data Here </table>
    Code (markup):

    Ahh... that was it. Thanks!

    1 more question if I may (I'll soon be taking a Dreamweaver class, so hopefully I won't need to ask these newbie questions here.

    I can't type or put anything in the area without the two images. I can only type below the left frame. Any idea whay?

    Thanks!

    Go into Code View and change the cell padding attribute to "0".

    <table width="700" border="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">

    Where does this go? <table width="700" border="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">

    And is that what it takes so I can type to the right of the left sidebar?

    Again, sorry for the newbie questions.

    I put the site up on a real server. Is there anyone able to tell me what I need to do so I can type & place objects in the main area?

    As it is still, I can only type & place objects below the left hand column.

    Thanks

    To acheive that in a tabular structure, you need to split the bottom table (the left one) into 2 columns. Do this by clicking on the left table with your mouse in DW. Now press CTRL + ALT+ S. Choose 2 Columns. Once you split that, you need to nest another table inside of the new column. This will allow you to format the data properly. You also need to mess with the width and valign to get it to look proper. I put the code below. Replace the second table in your code with this.

    <table width="1024" border="0">
      <tr>
        <th scope="row"><img src="side.jpg" alt="Side" width="93" height="652" border="0" align="left" /></th>
        <th scope="row" width="931" valign="top"><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
      <tr>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    </th>
      </tr>
    </table>
    Code (markup):
