No that is not correct. It depends on the group. I have Yahoo and Google groups myself and the first one has like 10+ members and the Google's around 100, so basically it depends on which one do you promote. I have only placed a subscribation box on my proxies for the Google group so I beleve that is the reason for higher number of subscribers, but it is pretty much still active anyway.

I beleve you were referring to Google Answers which is really already closed, the older posts are just left for archiving purposes.

Google Groups are better if you ask me.

PayAds maybe? There is some debate that they use some kind of exploit, but I have used them before and never seen something like that and made good money out of them (like $50 in 2 weeks). The key factor with them is having good US/Canada traffic.

In your example Yahoo Groups suscription box is placed, but in my oppinion Google Groups are better. After you create one (group), you can get the code for the subscription bux under Groups Setting -> Get a promotion box (or something similar).

ok this is really starting to get to me. I have been checking my stats of incoming traffic for my proxys. The other day one of the big referrers is http://p.macorex.com/index.php so when I checked the link it was my site. Now I just did it today and it is a different site. Are they stealing my visitors? I just don't get why someone would do that. Should I be concerned?

first thing to know is ... choose a good host not too cheap and not too expensive because you must be up and offer quality all time and on the other hand have some profit from your work ... this is step one and ... see my signature...

What the hell is wrong with proxy owners. I run a proxy top list service without reciprocal links and approved many sites. Now, they are either parked pages or phishing sites. I had to work a lot to recheck all of them manually. Why do they do it? I should ask for a reciprocal link from now on.
One more thing is, some idiots submit myspace.com, miniclip.com, orkut.com. Why do they do it?

May be because not all are ready to do any marketing job for their sites, and after no revenue for one month decide to sell or park it?

Probably because all the "decent" proxy owners know that topsistes only bring them bad traffic which gets thier adsense account smartpriced. You probably got all the n00bs that ditched proxies when they realised they arn't as easy as all the free proxy ebooks made out.

Didn't know most of those noobs post in this thread:p. Anyway, mine is not a regular proxy list. Besides, even google is considering them as internal links and giving them pr3, how do they get blocked?

What do you guys do in the summer when there no proxy traffic?
Do you keep them online or just cancel your server and park them for 3 months?
I think it during the summer it would hard to pay the server bill probably end up in the Red for several months.
