It would seem like the required age is 18, however I have heard of several 16 year olds using it.

Read Google's terms of service, see if it says anything.

You have to be 18 years or above to use it, though you can ask your parents to sign up and use their account.

you have to be 18 to sign a contract legally so thats the age limit. signing up under your parents name is fine and lot of people are doing it. its not lying but staying under parental supervision. as your parent will be the one who will be cashing the check, they will know what you are doing online. its is perfectly alright for parents to sign contractual agreements for their children and a common practice

18 years old. period. No 16, no 17, no 17 and 363 days.

I was 15 when I signed up with Adsense. My first account wouldn't register so I contacted them, gave them the info and they told me to use a parent. So I just gave my moms name, ss, and whatnot. She cashes my checks for me. In february however, I turn 18 and want my own. I'll contact them because changing names doesn't happen easily.

Somebody else can confirm this but I believe this will work. Go get a business license. Then sign up for Adsense with that business. The other option is to have a parent sign up for you. But, the earnings are going to be taxed under their name. Which means the tax rate will probably be higher because it would ad to their income. If you have a business you could also write off new equipment you use for it. Like a new computer or marketing costs. If I was you I would research this option first.

in the US,a contract is not valid if the signer is under 18,so it wouldn't matter if you apply for a business account.
they may want to close the first account and then you can open one in your name.

That is true. But he could have a parent sign up as a partner in the company and they can sign the legal forms.
