I've been using pay per action for quite some time. My last post on the subject was in August of last year....and my opinion of the program is still pretty much the same. It's "ok" but still needs some work. It's getting better but I'm sure even the Googlers working on the PPA team would admit they still see room for improvement. The biggest change has been the fact that there's more volume (impressions) so PPA, in my opinion, is worth doing. Risk is relatively low. The big downside for me is lack of compatibility with AdWords Editor. I have a few accounts with hundreds of PPA campaigns...and let me tell you it's no quick process building them all via the web interface. Once there's AWE compatibility I'll be "all in".
Glad to hear it's going OK for you. For me, it's terrible. Since the forced opt in impressions have skyrocketed all right but results are VERY poor. A major fact is that publishers have no real options to "promote" the ad. I have had a lot more success using some of the larger affiliate networks like CJ. Only problem there is that your affiliates compete with you in the PPC landscape Still a lot of work to be done in PPA in my opinion and the additional tracking is a pain in the ass.
Agreed. I should have added it's working well with certain "actions" and not working well at all with other types of actions. For the most part if it's working for you in the content network you'll see some efficiency with PPA. If the content network isn't working for you PPA will be iffy at best. Most of the impressions I see are content network based rather than user selected PPA.
You dun need to know how good is it. I am using it. But i will never waste my time on tuning it. Becoz the PPA model is juz something for more exprosure with a 100% sure profit. haha, isnt it?
