10 to 15K from a forum! Not bad. Hard earned money though. There is lot of effort keeping the forum clean for sure.
These are just guesses. I find it hard to believe DP earns that a month as well. It's just Adsense on here. Internet marketing is absolutely saturated. And I can't imagine the CTR being that big despite 132,000 members and a ton of traffic non-stop no doubt, it's still shared Adsense at the top and under posts... meh. Considering most people who come on here are either experienced webmasters already or at least know what Adsense is... I just can't imagine it earning that much. Plus most traffic I imagine is return traffic from avid users. Who I doubt ever click on Ads, I know I haven't since I've been here. John Chow for example earns like $25k a month with his blog and has 15,000 + readers. Now his or any blog is completely different obviously, he has affiliates, rss, reviews, footer ads, banner ads, user interaction. He can monetize every post. Loads. So this can be achieved. But 15k a month from Adsense on a forum? ...eeh. Dunno.
I thought shawn had a post about it on his blog? But either way it makes enough to support itself and thats all it needs really.
A1 post...... The misinformation posted on DP is sickening...... I think people post answers they have no right to, or are not remotely accurate, just to see themselves type. Lastly who cares what the owner of the forum earns as he is not mailing anyone here a check........ What should concern people is how much they earn.
Indeed. But no point in questioning people's motives for asking or trying to reason why people would want to know. It's obvious why, we're all curious Internet marketers here, well - most of us. Digital Point has 132,000 members and is generally considered the biggest webmaster forum on the net. So I certainly don't blame anyone for wanting to know how much $$$ they earn.
132,000 members Active members no where close to that number. I am not blaming anyone....just see no purpose served in asking...... There are plenty of people making much more money at a 9 to 5....... Again the question is not how much someone else earns but how much are you earning that ultimately is what matters most...... Shawns earnings will not pay anybodys bills.... but Shawns.
now that i been on DP for one full year, i seen MANY MANY threads like this, and everyone of them have a different answer to how much DP makes.
Internet marketing may be saturated by almost every big internet market frequents this website as it is mentioned frequently by all of the large bloggers and I remember someone saying before that shawn said he made anywhere from 12k-20k a month depending on different things. If he wanted to he could put a lot more advertising onto the forum and probably make much more but I think he wants to keep it a good community not an advertising mess like many forums do when they get greedy and there active members go down in the hole
Its very believeable that this site makes that much per month...I am wondering what kind of servers he has to pay for because in my past, ive spent as much as 600-700 a month on servers...so I wonder just how much he actually makes after money spent on the site.
About 10K makes more sense to me. Little more or less. Again DP has expenses for sure. Servers and others.
