Oh, great. I originally posted news of Ledger's death in the "entertainment" section, but now the ^%$#%$^&&% Westboro Baptists are going to torture the man's family at his funeral, because he played a homosexual in Brokeback Mountain.

Anyone else looking forward to when old man Phelps dies? I'll be tempted to get plane tickets just to attend this scum bags funeral and hold up the most vile sign i can think of, preferably one picturing him on his death bed followed by a caption celebrating the end of his worthless, Hate filled life.

Just to let my feelings be known. I honestly dont see the point in picketing the funeral, a man is dead and should be laid to rest at peace, with respect. The members of that church however, have the right to do what they want in accordance with the laws, regardless of how pointless it is.

He played a gay cowboy, so what he was acting. Honestly i feel their actions are extreme, but the thought of blowing them up does not come to my mind. And I'm the one with the machine gun

 

So either;
a) you don't know what sarcasm is
b) you have a type of colour blindness that prevents you seeing red words, Or
c) You are yet again relying on an intentional misinterpretation of what someone says that allows you to reduce their argument to something you feel sufficiently equipped to counter.

 

Simply, a piece of brotherly advice. Don't try. As with the abortion thread, you'll just get hurt, then in desperation, you'll post a rep for someone, crying, and then you'll just get more embarrassed. Now, from one veteran who actually served, to a guy who wants to play toy soldier, go play with your toys.

i hope the phelps all get raped and tortured and killed and then their funeral be protested. and a plane with 100 gallons of horse piss just dropped on the funeral procession. and then 5 dump trucks full of acid be layed on the burial grounds.. and everyone would question why they were put in a coffin in the first place cause the acid would just mutilate everything and their bodies wouldn't even be there anymore. and then every sewage line in America should be dumped into that mound of nothingness until it overflows with sh!t. and yet more people come and protest it. and this process shall be repeated until there are no more phelps

Freedom of speech is fine & dandy but that also means we have the right to speak out about how disgusting someone else's "speech" is.

 

I agree 100% But there is a bit of a difference in church members peacefully picketing, and a thought of murdering those that decide to picket.

One is peaceful and lawful, the other is violent and hateful

 

BS. A "thought" is not action. No one here murdered anyone or burned up any churches. Talking about doing so in a manner like has been done here is a form of free speech. And, I will add, a far less offensive form of free speech than picketing someone's funeral.

 

Yep, ain't nuttin' more peaceful than a good ole fashioned hate speech at a funeral of people like, oh, you know, the usual suspects, fallen soldiers, and other filth, all with loved ones nearby. Peaceful as apple pie, or a guy who has never served whose avatar shows him playing toy soldier, preaching to vets on the nature of violence and death.

 

You miss the big point.

One is actually happening, the other was merely spoken as a sarcastic thought. You want to make a big deal out of the sarcasm and ignore what the Phelps group is actually doing. This is sophistry.

That you would call what they do as peaceful is intellectually dishonest.

 

I agree a thought is not an action, but the thought stated in this thread is on the border of a threat, which is not lawful under freedom of speech. However, the sarcasm note saves it. So i have nothing to complain about

You have stood for the death of innocent children (another thread for those that dont know) and the bombing of peaceful church members, all in one day. If anyone has presented a hate speech, its you.
