$1200 isn't much for a full time job, but as an extra paycheck each month it would be great.

Hmm, are you paying your taxes young man? Also, are these actual companies that you own? An actual company is registered with the state law, and you have to pay for the name ($399) for a legal trademark..

Have you done this for all your companies? It doesn't seem to me like you're paying taxes. One of us could just report you, really. :D

    But hey, that's on you!

Lmao actually your right, I never even thought about taxes till about new years. As soon as I figure out how it works, I am actually planning on doing so. Also, yes I do own them. As for it being an ACTUAL company, I wouldnt take it that far. But yeah,I do have people who do work for me.

Man... I jsut got ripped off for $215 by some guy I designed a site for. I hate when people take advantage of me. I wish I had a bulletproof plan to deliver my services.

I definately think I am done with the freelance web design thing, as soon as www.bizlinked.com is up.

Don't hand the goods over until you receive payment.
    That's pretty bulletproof :)

I started off when I was 16 designing websites, when I was 17 I built a website (Which I am totally ashamed of content wise now) when i got my first request for a copy of the script that runs the website. I made $100 in 20 mins.

I then realised at that moment, that was where my money was. I have been developing that software for almost 5 years now. I quit my day job when I was 19.

I am now 22 and have used the profits from the past few years to ivest in more projets and build my company.

Its all about learning and adapting to the marketplace. And trust me, if I can do it, anyone can.

It seems like the people making the real money here do it from other means than advertising, how do you decide what scripts you develop?

I dont know about him, but when I develope things, it usually comes from something I dont like or sometimes something I wish I had. IF they have potential, I have no problem spending the moeny to develope it.

For you youngins, my suggestion would be don't quit your day job or education until you are making 10,000 USD consistently per month.. then make a plan to bank at least half a million within a couple years.. when you get to 2 million you can retire.

I just turned 20 and consider myself just a lucky guy. I found a niche, improvised, and made $150k online within the last four months from adsense. Taxes are going to be a pain, but at least I filed my business in time and had some business expenses. :D

Sigh... Under 20.... I don't qualify anymore... Gone are my youthful days... I'm a father now... Am I getting old already? I'm only 20 years old! I'm still a kid I swear! lol. Okay, I'm not a kid... but this thread really hit home for me... Most of my days on the internet, I've always been one of those 'younger entrepreneurs' Started working on the internet when I was 13 or 14... It all goes by so fast...
