I am looking into Godaddy and wondering if anyone knows how the Godaddy "Upgrade Hosting Plan" work? If I buy the least expensive plan and later I want to upgrade, do I have to lose or have to move my site's database and files or something? I am concerned if I establish a site and later when I upgrade, what will happen. Thank you.
If you read some reviews on GoDaddy they are horrible. If you ever come to a problem it will take some time until they fix it. I wouldn't recommend godaddy. What are your requirements? - Prilep
Thank you I want to make sure the files and database stay there. Do you know (regardless of whether I want to upgrade/downgrade or not) does Godaddy automatically back up the files and database every day or do I have to do it? I really need to learn and see how to do it too.
godaddy backup is a pain. Godaddy claims they did do backup daily or something but some lose their data at times godaddy is an overseller and their hosting is not good for database users. and their customer support is not that helpful when it comes to in depth helps.
I told him above to read some reviews on godaddy. They seriously are bad when it comes to support. - Prilep
i am looking into to godaddy because it seems much reliable than other hosts and most of the average website I have seen are using godaddy and the rest are using bluehost, hostgator, dreamhost and hostmonster. godaddy has the best deal too.
but it is unreliable in the top 10 overseller monsters even though its prices seem "reasonable". are you hosting static or database site?
try http://lunarpages.com if you want to sleep good (oversell too but better than Godaddy )] i think they change only the settings, your account should stay in the same place, the files too, is just an upgrade, you are not moving anywehere, they just give you more features and you pay more
Agree, godaddy is good for domain registration, but not a hosting pro. And there are many other good hosting plans. Even pick one randomly, you'll find it is better than Godaddy...
