Is anyone else sick of seeing these '5-minute website' solutions? It seems like they want everyone on the web to make an unsuccessful website.
I have determined that starting the process of writing in HTML is quite fun. My eyes are all wiggily. Just new and just starting to create my own website. Fun but very time consuming. Any hints or links to free hints would be very helpful. Thank you all!
If you have the money or the resources, I'd suggest getting Adobe's Dreamweaver. In my experience, it is, by far, the best WYSIWIG HTML editor in existence. Buying the software is what I recommend though; obtaining an illegal copy can be surprisingly bad for you... and I don't mean that in just legal terms!
I think keeping your HTML design simple and user-friendly is the best. There are lost of HTML editor out there but some are quite confusing to use.. well at least to me. I prefer to spend time on content first then improve the web design.
As with anything...you get out what you put in...If you spend the time coding the site, making the graphics and ensuring all is well, you will be proud that the design is yours and that you have acheived what should be a decent looking site design...these sites promote a sense of hurriedness and a 5 min design will look somewhat like a 6 year olds drawing then a slick, brandable website. Just my 2 cents.
lol..i am a fan of this 5 min website maker softwares... har har.. some didnt work good but i found site studio gewd!!!
Firstly, I think there are a lot of people who don't know better. Taking template solutions from Publisher is all they know. Secondly, there are a lot of people out there trying to make a cheap buck. What they don't realize is if their site is not aesthetic to the eye they are probably losing business. I hate how people just buy templates and sites, like Template Monster.
yeah, coding yourself can be a true accomplishment AND make for a much better site!!! for those looking for a good HTML editor, use TextPad. it's available free online and is really good for those who understand code!

I'm sure you can make a site in five minutes with these apps - and they'll look like a site that someone spent five minutes on!
Cool site - lots of info, but it seems pretty overwhelming. Know of any sites that are kind of in between? Like, not simple "5 Minute" crap, and not too technical intensive?
You need to be willing to challenge yourself and give yourself time to adapt and learn new things. Expanding your capabilities will open up a whole plethora of new options.
I like them. Why? I get to tell the owners that they could use a major professional upgrade to their website with a custom look not created by a free program. Cha-Ching!
