We should stop all wiretapping, everyone included drug dealers, and mafia members.

If they wiretapped you would you have a problem with it? [I can take a guess]

I wouldn't. But then I don't have anything to hide, like some do. Now if I were you, I'd be scared to death.

    Scared?

With HR 1955, everyone has to be concerned with what they say now.

Wiretapping is fine, if it is done with a warrant. That would conform to the 4th Amendment. But broadly wiretapping every citizen, removes privacy absolutely, with or without cause.

I won't argue that some are interested in the privacy of our enemies, however, I'm not one of those.

Isn't that what this applies to?

Can we get a show of hands of how many (ahem) "Americans" want to give privacy to our enemies overseas?

Of course you have nothing to hide cause the only way you communicate is through your tin foil hat! You have NO respect for privacy, personal liberties and freedoms or human rights. You can't even wipe your own butt without government assistance. ;)

I really don't care if they did, if they want to know what I order for dinner let they go ahead its just a waste of resources. Two if I did have something to hide, I wouldn't be talking about it on the phone either.

Copied this, in case a moderator needs to see it.

You are correct here, though, to a degree. When it comes to terrorists and those who support them, I simply am not interested in their privacy, personal liberties and freedoms or human rights.

There are other people who are concerned over those issues for terrorists.

    Still scared, GS? ;)

What about the human rights of others, terrorist and drug dealers have rights, liberties and freedom but the people who they hurt and kill don't have human rights.

Even a serial killer has rights. We are a nation of laws not of thugs. Everything has to be done by the book!

You did that for me, in the thread about Ron Paul receiving an endorsement from Iran, the world's largest state sponsor of terror.

Not to mention other posts here that have been very kind to terrorists.

I don't have any reason to believe you are now ashamed of these things, but if you are, one option you might consider is STOP.

Cause your hero terrorist BUSH says so? A repeat lier?
    PROOF!
Study: Bush led U.S. to war on 'false pretenses' The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period
Than again I can count at least 10X that many false statements you make here daily. So I can see where the similarities begin.

    Thank you SERP lover!
For the record I have never and will never support BUSH. Gtech has and still does support this miserable failure despite the mounting proof that he has mislead our country! Now you tell me who's the terrorist supporter here.

I don't object to wire tapping if it can be shown to be of utmost importance to the saving of lives, take eg prior knowledge of 9/11 can prevent such a tragedy. But such rights must be used with extreme safe guards put into place. Legislative and Executive branches must be clearly separated and Bush administration for eg, needs to get a warrant for such wire tapping.

Warrantless wiretapping will be very prone to abuse, the damage may be far more serious than the consequences it is trying to prevent. There must be proper command and control.
