READ THIS... EXCERPT FROM CNBC ARTICLE...

Who would've thought it would be so soon, not only will they cut the insertion fees, but it will ALSO cut final value fees. IDK, all of this cutting, I hope it doesn't mean they're going to be cutting affiliate commission :(

That is exactly what is gonna happen. Common sense, eBay affiliates get a cut of the final value fee.

The same as now, your winning bid commission will be lower, they may increase the commission rates when they renew the terms with CJ in June, hopefully.

Incentivize affiliates to drive more traffic so they make up the revenue shortfall in volume? Not sure what % of their sales are getting driven by affiliates...

@Turtle - I wouldn't bail just yet. Focus on volume with your eBay affiliate endeavours. But, just remember the golden making money online rule; don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

mrmonster is correct, all ebay uk affiliates should have received an email this morning reading as follows:

Good news! From 1st February 2008, we’re increasing the eBay.co.uk affiliate programme pricing to continue to reward and recognise quality traffic & incentivise further growth. This means that you can now earn up to £11 for every new Active Confirmed Registered User (ACRU) you deliver to eBay and up to 60% of the revenue generated by the Bids and Buy it Nows you drive to the site. We have also changed the pricing tiers to make it easier for you to reach the next level. See the new payment structure below:

    Monthly ACRU tiers
    Total ACRUs £ per ACRU
    1 - 24 £8
    25 - 249 £9
    250 - 499 £10
    500 + £11

    Monthly Revenue tiers
    Total Revenue % Share
    £0.01 - £999.99 30%
    £1000 - £4,999.99 32.5%
    £5,000 - £24,999.99 35%
    £25,000 - £49,999.99 40%
    £50,000 - £99,999.99 45%
    £100,000 - £499,999.99 50%
    £500,000 + 60%

    * Please note that no further action is required, as you will be moved onto the new pricing structure automatically.

Reminder of New Rules for Paid Search Affiliates

Unfortunately, from 1st February 2008 we will no longer compensate for Paid Search traffic from Google, Yahoo or MSN, if directly linked to an eBay.co.uk page. After this time, any earnings from revenue or ACRUs generated through direct Paid Search will be reversed. This applies to the UK affiliate programme only and is in accordance with the new terms and conditions and programme description in your CJ Account Manager. For further details click here.

Again, we’d really like to take this opportunity to thank all Paid Search affiliates for the hard work they’ve put in since joining the programme. But please do check out the other business models out there, so you can take advantage of the increased pricing structure.

    good news indeed!
