Blending your ads...is it 100% legal?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by RHIMLER14, Jan 23, 2008.

I run a website PumpCost.com and I was told to blend my ads into the color scheme of the website. Is it 100% ok with the TOS to do so?

I know putting ads right below say a navigation bar and then match them is illegal but is it ok to blend ads to the color scheme? Thanks!

If you'd like to review my site you can see it here...PumpCost.com

    I appreciate it. :D

It's OK to blend your ads.
What you can't do is MISLEAD the visitors ;)

No it's completely ILLEGAL and the Adsense SWAT team is probably getting ready to break down your front door right now unless you "unblend" those ads. You will be sent to Google's privately run prison that they set up for Adsense TOS Violators and you DO NOT get conjugal visits..

    (Yes you can blend them)

    lol

Yes you can blend them, i actually used to like putting image rectangle, beside a text rectangle which is legal to, it increased CTR about 100-200%

I dont use google anymore, i use the company in my sig ;)

Yeah it is a cool site....If I were you, I might put that banner that you have at the bottom of the page up where you have the horizontal "links" bar. You might get a little more action on it if it always stayed at the top of the page, instead of being pushed down below the search results. Just a thought.

You mean the AdSense banner right? The big banner is on all the other pages but I dont wanna drive people away from the search...I just made some changes so please revisit it...such as blending ads, making footer larger, and fixing some placement.

    thanks for the good feedback

Look at the Adsense help section, I'm pretty sure Google even suggests using color blending in there somewhere.

Of course you can blend your ads to match the color scheme of your site unless to do any trick like placing images near ads or decorating the adunit with border image etc.
