Insane McCain does not come across as a very sincere person to me personally. Not to mention his constant flip flopping on the Iraq war.

I find it hard to believe, that after Bush, anyone would be willing to disregard the fact that a candidate may be trying to hide their official records, particularly someone who was captured and tortured, and now could be making decisions that affect billions of people.

Didn't you people watch the Manchurian Candidate?

Also, I find it incredibly disgusting how veterans and POWs are treated. Everyone talks a good game about the troops, but when they are still in Vietnam 40 years later, how can we say that we really support them?

I know I did. Great piece of cinematic fiction, both versions. I also liked Lord of the Rings, tons of other films.

Personally, I know I also find it hard to believe people are afraid to answer questions on any candidate.

I definitely give McCain the benefit of the doubt on this one but that is all a bit suspicious.

If he's too old, so is Ron Paul. I believe they are same age.

You make a good point. Question is, do you hold your candidate to the same standard?

I'm not a huge fan of McCain, but he is an honorable man.

Sure. My candidate's dirty laundry is out there. Doesn't explain why McCain refuses to help MIA/POWs, or why he continues to block attempts at showing his record.

    Hedging your bets?

Nor does a "press release" (of all things) assume your assertions are correct.

However, there is no question that Ron Paul wrote and published racist, homophobic and conspiratorial newsletters for years. Not that that would be a problem for some.

Whatever you say, but instead of deflecting the topic back to something that has numerous threads on it already, why not discuss the disgusting lack of respect from McCain to veterans and POW/MIA issues?

You would think a guy who was a POW would be a champion for these causes.

Hey GTECH, could you point me to some of those publications? Ron Paul is actually from about 5 miles from my house in Pittsburgh btw.

Because I'm not dumb enough to get my news from "press releases" from fourth rate sites. We could discuss why you are, but I just figured you probably wouldn't want to go there.

I have no reason to believe he isn't. He's not a second generation immigrant that spends all his time on the web tearing down America.

    Sure:

Here was the first "major" story that broke on it, although many had known about it for a long time:

    http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=e2f15397-a3c7-4720-ac15-4532a7da84ca

Here's a summary of a number of those, refuted the notion that Ron Paul didn't write them:

    http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2008/01/proof-ron-paul-lied-about-not-being.html

Here's another story with even more exposed:

Here is more info containing news articles where Ron Paul actually defended some of the early racist newsletters discovered back in 1996:

It's a press release GTech. It's posted on a Press Release website.

Uhm, excuse me? Didn't you check out the material that is in the first post of this thread? Why would you have no reason to believe it without doing any due diligence?

You do know that Perot was huge on POW/MIA, even arranging his own rescue of 2 of his employees from Iran with mercenaries? His comments on the film cited in the first post? "Everything it says is the truth."

It's funny that you, an ex-serviceman wouldn't care about POW/MIA issues. I realize you didn't draw action when you were in the service, but with family members in the field, it seems a little bizarre that you would challenge Paul, who fights for benefits, recognition and care for veterans, and also play dumb in this thread when any soldier could end up a POW in a warzone.

Did you contact your Rep. to support H.R. 123? If not, why not?

Ah, the inevitable character attack, implying that I am somehow less American than you, because I am a 3rd generation immigrant.

I've come to believe there is no excuse for your behavior or the posts you make. To be fair, you answered your own question:

Asking a question isn't an implication or a character attack. One needs character in order for it to be attacked.

Wake up Gtech. You don't have many sympathizers here. You are a hypocrite of gigantic proportions. Your attacks on a lot of people here are enough to have your banned permanently! Though I'm glad you are still here, cause I know this forum is your entire life's best achievement.
