Thanks, you guys can also submit your real estate directories to http://www.propertyhogs.com Just mention the directory submitted in a post here and I will find it thru the pool of free submissions.
very few directories of anytype makes it into dmoz, http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Real_Estate/Guides_and_Directories/
err, i don't think he mean't submit to every dmoz category, that might get you banned rather, your directory should already be full of useful, non spammy content Submit only once, then forget about it, is the usual advice
I think someone else mentioned it a few pages back, i'll double confirm my: Immoveable Index Real Estate Directory Thanks
Mike we get the most clicks from linkreferral. com - 34 total (they have a program that gets you tons of links if you do it - it's basically reviewing websites and visiting websites) I did it for two days and got about 10 hits per day when I was doing it. It's not a real estate directory but you mentioned, somewhere in this thread that any directory that gives traffic would do. Here's a break down of the rest of the directories I'll keep these to real estate ired.com - 16 reals.com - 12 ibsteam.net - 11 canlinks.net - 8 36towns - 3 movemeto.com - 3 overly.com - 3 immoveableindex.com - 2 localrealestatedir.com - 2 I'll stop searching since anything less than 2 will most likely be from the webmaster - it looks like some of the directories are paying off. Not sure when we got in most of these directories but if I had to guess I'd say end of Sept. to the beg. of Nov.
That is pretty good since we are tracking only 1 hit for you http://www.36towns.com/detail-505-NewHomesSection.html Thanks for the feedback, I am surprised, which always motivates me.
At what point do you think it would make sense to submit to a directory for the sake of targatted traffic compared to increasing search engine rankings?
I think there are very few directories that will send you much in the way of traffic from a regular listing, even with a featured listing I think the most traffic you can expect is a few a day.
REALTOR.COM As a broker I agree that NAR screws us by making Realtor.com yet another way to separate us from our money. We pay for it (and their salary) to start with, they easily have revenue from our dues to provide it as a free service, so if they're reading this .... :-P That said, they've made fairly recent upgrades and it DOES yield more leads than it did a few years ago provided you shell out for the premium package. My 2 cents. YMMV RE: Are you in Dmoz / Any Traffic? Yes, and yes. Not as much traffic compared to search engines, but some direct traffic and it probably contributes to the SE traffic. The policy there is pretty tough on inclusion of templated sites (i edit there, I lost that argument, I personally think the agent themself is the unique content that merits inclusion)... but fortunatelt my site is home-brewed. If you have a template site it still qualifies under the existing guideline IF it has unique content, so personalize the heck out of it and don't depend on the stuff they provided only... make sure it shows things like your personal listings and testimonials. Send it to the appropriate locality cat. They aren't really anti-webmaster, just slow as Christmas. It's free link, so send it and move on to other things. Can't hurt to try. BOTW & BOTW Local Not strictly an RE dir... but about to submit mine to Best of the Web.... http://www.botw.org ... the Regional section there is growing of late and I want to see how it helps. Entry there is cheaper than Yahoo. BOTW Local is their new biz directory http://local.botw.org/ that looks promising. IRED Agree that as far as directories go, IRED is probably the best known. It was founded by an agent that lives a few miles from me. First put my site there in the late 90s. Well known though it may be, not sure it really drives much serious traffic. Sure it provides a little link juice.
This thread is just what i am after. I am trying to boost my property site. It's called property in the UK not real estate. Will it matter if i have links coming into my site from other countries ? Will it still give the max juice from Google ? Or do i need to aim for UK directories ? There are loads of links on this thread and i am hungry for some related links. Anyone got a revised latest list of them all ? But more to the point - is there anyone on this forum who is fast at submitting and willing to quote me for adding my site to all the free ones listed on this thread ? Great thread, just what i am after !
Coggy, I'm not necessarily an expert, but yes, I would aim for some UK directories. http://www.freeindex.co.uk/ comes to mind... That said, it will NOT hurt you to get listed in the 'regular' real estate directories (ahem, PROPERTY directories). You just might focus a little less there. BTW, shameless plug, but I'm developing my own RE directory - it's not ready for official launch yet, but I am accepting quality submissions (deleting those MFA sites that already submitted - sigh): http://www.brsrealestate.com/
your title saying which ones are good and you are giving three examples, why are these to be good? I am seeing only handful of links in each and no presence on web?
