Are these Domains Worth Renewing?

    Hi all

I just got a renewal letter for 15 of my .gb.com domains and they are expensive to renew. I think I have had the names for 4 years now, so this will be the 2nd renewal.

So I'm wondering are they of any value, these are the names

    insurance.gb.com
    creditcard.gb.com
    hotels.gb.com
    champagne.gb.com
    wine.gb.com
    chocolates.gb.com
    lingerie.gb.com
    jewellery.gb.com
    presents.gb.com
    fragrance.gb.com
    gifts.gb.com
    hampers.gb.com
    beauty.gb.com
    cosmetics.gb.com

    and property.gb.net

can anyone give me an idea of their value?

    thanks

I would try to sell them now as there has been a couple of sales for .gb.com recently

    Auto.gb.com $82 aug/07
    Play.gb.com $1500 mar/07

    Thanks.

I have decided to renew them for another 2 years, I might even get time to develop them into something nice and meaningful.

There's only been 2 sales ever as mentioned above. Personally, I wouldn't have regged any of those subdomains in the 1st place. I agree with the above comments, try & sell them if you can & see what response you get.

How much do you have to pay to renew each of those subdomains?

The only ones I would possibly consider keeping is:

    insurance.gb.com
    creditcard.gb.com
    hotels.gb.com
    beauty.gb.com

i agree with htmlindex's suggestion, it's only those with the highly sought after keywords like credit card, insurance etc that are worth renewing, hard to find a buyer in that extension

That means that the person that owns the domain GB.com is selling subdomains like what the OP has bought. I wish I owned those LL.com domains so I could sell subdomains & make a ton of money like what they are making :(

The problem with owning subdomains is like Web.com, where they have told all the people that owned them that they are disconinuing it & everyone will lose them in the next 2 months or so when they discoutinue. Another reason why I personally would never waste my money on them.

Thanks for all the great comments and advice. I will renew them and you may see some appearing in sedo soon. They are just over £50 approx $100 to renew for 2 years per domain. This is why I was curious as that totals £760 approx $1600 to renew them all.

I guess if I start to develop some of them into good content sites now, in 2 years time they may give me some payback!

Have you heard of parking domains? If you want to know the value of your domains, you can try parking them for a while (it's free) and see if they generate any traffic and income (you get your share). Try parking them with Trafficclub, leave them there for a while and see what happens. But you need to be patient as the revenue might come within time. And you can track all the statistics about it so you know you're not getting ripped off. It's much better than leaving them with your registrar as they are probably using them themselves to advertise. Hope this helps.

$1600 for renewal of 16 domains is a lot of money..., did you ever parked the to see if they generate any revenue or get traffic?
anyway they are good domains and I can wish you best of luck with them
