Ok, I have a differing opinion. One based on experience mind you, none the less, differing.. So of course if my opinion differs from yours, I must be wrong, I must not "understand"...

That's a rather arrogant point of view.

Two peas in a pod.. Can't be civilized, attack, attack, attack... I liked the troofers better when they just chanted government conspiracy...

How on earth GWB is mentioned, or Fox News, is beyond me... I did not vote for GWB nor do I watch Fox News.... Of course I have said that about a hundred times or more here...

Have a differing opinion? He must be a GWB supporter.. He must watch that there Fox News.. Must listen to what Gtech or whoever is the DP poster boy for all that is the opposite of reality of the day is...

Did it ever occur to either of you two dolts that I like a great many people here actually think for ourselves? We don't need others to tell us how to think. Free your mind and join us. You have no idea how liberating it is to have an original thought.

Then please use this experience to give a rebuttal to what I said earlier. So far all you have been able to come up with are sarcastic remarks, apparently thats the solution to an economic meltdown.

Use this free and original thought to produce a logical response.

In the last 25 years there have been just two recessions and both were short and mild. Most Americans have no idea what hard times are like.

Peter Schiff, who has been right with some gloomy forecasts about housing and oil prices in the past foresees the worst recession since the Great Depression, with double-digit unemployment, double-digit interest rates and double-digit inflation. Schiff runs the investment firm Euro Pacific Capital Inc. in Darien, Conn

Schiff is a very smart man. His book, "Crash Proof" is excellent reading for investors looking to protect themselves from a domestic meltdown.

You can watch his TV appearances on the Euro-Pac site.

Already did several times.. You missed it. Hence the sarcasm... If it does not sink in the first time, why should I waste more time nailing that point home.. You'll get it eventually..

I went to sears yesterday, there was a whole bunch of "used", "refurbished" big screen hd tvs in the show room

I am assuming these are ones they got back when people stopped making payment on them

I think if we get that tax rebate , I will buy one. I have always wanted one and in a few months I think they will be a lot cheaper

Well the FED cut the rates again this morning by 75 bps. Seems like they cut it too early, should've waited.

Most of those refurb's are just that.. Refurbished, or floor models/displays and close outs... You can get some cool deals at Sears when buying items like this.

I paid $400 for a $1500 gladiator refrigerator last year. It was a clearance floor model. Nothing wrong with it, full warranty!!!

My HD 52" was $800 and came with no payments no interest for 18 months.. I took that deal and broke the payments out and paid like $100 every two months... Why shell out the cash if you don't have to?

People that go belly up on their purchases do not end up seeing a repro man jack their TV in the middle of the night.. They get sent to collections, sued, whatever...

Anyway, how anyone can default on a Sears card is beyond me! With these awesome no payment, no interest deals.. Assuming you pay them off in full, you WIN WIN WIN, every time...

Bernanke's 0.75 percentage point Fed rate cut is going to kill the dollar and add more fuel to inflation. The European Cenrat Bank rate is 4% and the 2007 US unflation rate was 4.1%

What we have here is Schumer politics (Sen. Charles E. Schumer). As soon as their is a negative Schumer is crying for a bailout. Schumer was calling for a sell off of the strategic oil reserve when the price of gas hit $1.50 a gallon in New York. Schumer was in fromt of the subprime bailout and now is calling for income-tax-rebates for people that pay no Federal income tax.

As "Mr T" said 'I pity the fools' . Basically the US consumer wants their cake and to eat it too.

In my opnion inflation is worse than recession and what we are getting in more inflation.

All the tvs and most of the consumer spending is for foreign products.

I don't see how increasing the US trade deficit helps the economy.

Apple has it's best quarterly revenue earnings in its history... Yep, doom and gloom is certainly upon us... Hell, people will even pay $3.50 for a 8oz cup of coffee from kids on the street.. Things are terrible right now.. God, the madness... What are we going to do? Maybe I should donate to Ron Paul.. I mean after all, with things so bleak, it's hard to believe that people still have all this disposable income.. Someone better clue people in on just how bad things really are..

And we have a negative savings rate. Those poor bastards are charging their coffees.

No. Please just stay home on the night of your primary. That will be enough.

They don't have disposable income. That would imply that their expenditures are less than their income. None of the figures bear this out.

You might not be hurting, but a lot of people are when the President is talking about giving every citizen a $800 tax rebate, whether they pay taxes or not.

Typical Ron Paul supporter.. Either don't vote or vote no on everything..

Because everyone buys stock and coffee with credit cards...

Tax incentives spur more business.. That is how we got here to begin with..

    Ah, doom and gloom...

Oh, you were planning to vote in the primaries?

It was a figure of speech. You're a smart guy, and know what I mean.

More business, and more taxes. When the government hands out $160 billion in tax relief, where do you think that money will come from? Future prosperity is the correct answer.

They're trying to piss on volcano. Guns and butter is the problem, has been for 50 years.

Sounds like someones a bit confused about the election process...

    No really, I do not..

It's arrogance like this that pisses me off to no end.. I know exactly where that money comes from.. ME, and YOU, and anyone that pays taxes.. It's not the governments to begin with... What it really means is, WE are holding on to more of our own money.. It's not the governments money.

That tax relief is what creates future prosperity. I'm pretty sure I know how to spend my own money better than the government does.

If you would actually take time to look at the hard cold facts, we have been increasing revenue to the federal government every year since the Bush tax cuts too affect.

When you have more of your own money to spend, that money finds its way into the economy in the way of more jobs, increased wages, and more dollars spent on consumer goods.

No society in history has ever taxed its way into prosperity.

Yes, I know.. It is all doom and gloom.. The sky is falling.. We are all gonna die.. The end is here.. RP save us... Please...
