    "False.
I have been on the first page (up and down 2 or 3 positions every update) the last two years, for many keywords, some very popular.
On-site optimization, fresh content, and relevant backlinks will keep you on top."

Lmao? It still moved, and its not the same for everyone.. so really its not false.. cuz 99% of the people notice the constant change in rank in Yahoo.. you just are the lucky 1%...

Nothing in life is true or false.. its the way life works

Search engines don't guarantee improved traffic, they just come up when people search a top/keyword.

I always build for yahoo, ask, and MSN. Google changes so often that it's not even worth it to me to optimize for them.

This may seem a bit trivial but my sites do OK on Google but my traffic from Yahoo and MSN convert to sales about 200% better than the traffic from Google does.

one of my site use to be first page page on both google and yahoo for a popular Automotive keyword.
the amount of traffic from them is almost equal.

Im glad your doing good on Yahoo. I work hard to make sure my sites rank well on all major search engines (google, yahoo, msn, aol, and even ask).

    Congrats!

Sometimes we are so focused on Google that we forget to optimize a little for Yahoo.

I try to aim for higher google rankings but I'm always rewarded by Yahoo first. I'm guessing Google takes "nofollow" links way more seriously than the other engines.

Of course, even though I list higher on Yahoo, Google still sends more traffic.

i get 1/5 of my traffic from yahoo.co.uk (page 1) and i am on page 2 of google.com for my keyword...and google sends me 2/5 of my traffic....again my site is on page 1 of google.co.uk (bottom of the page) and that sends me 1/5 of my traffic alone...

plus i am on first page of google india but that sends me nothing...well not nothing but like 40 visitors a day...LOL...but the keyword is english so that's why i am not getting that many visitors from google india

my traffic is growing so fast...it's unbelievable...
