Dow futures is now more than 600 points down, I guess you may not need to wait for a few months :( A few weeks will be more likely.

A 5% or so should be a correction rather than crash, it is what happen after this that is interesting.

Fed cuts 75 basis points, the drop was about 200 now for Dow Jones which is a great improvement. I have not seen the Fed cut so aggressively for a long time. At most is 50 basis points and definitely not 75 basis points.

The cuts worried rather than cheered Wall Street now :(

How did the American market go today?

A big collapse or just minor?

I think we should thank Martin Luther King, that Monday holidays does allow Fed to observe the reactions of the other global markets and made a decisive cut of 75 basis points. I wonder if Monday is not a holiday, what would be the outcome.

Making money in the recession is ironic, however many investors tend to short on stocks.

    Interesting concept.

My bid is for resources -GOLD!

OK for the time being, but it depends more than the rate cuts.

tech companies will prosper as long as they invest in DOD contracts and make killing machines and programs.

until the second half of 2008 when the WAR on terror finally runs out of steam and the whole of the US goes into a recession followed closely by the rest of the world

the china comes out in charge

Just sell, All Asian markets and Australian markets will be hit by recession in USA. Sell, what do you lose, markets will not rise now, if it falls buy it later.

We will need to see if there are any positive news especially those that indicate consumer spending is not affected. Any negative news will trigger a crash, Fed can't lower interest rates too much IMHO, there is inflation fears too.

If you don't know what you are doing, I'd just pull out your money and wait.
