Hey everyone I have to do a project on greenhouse gases and climate change so can any one refer me to a great recource. (other then wikipedia lol)
Be different and take the opposing angle. I am assuming that your instructor is trying to tell you man is the cause for climate change. Well, there is a growing dissent in the scientific community. More and more scientists are saying that man is NOT the cause of climate change or at the very least not a major cause. Google "The Great Global Warming Swindle" for an interesting documentary. People are quick to accuse oil profiteers of spreading such theories as "lies" because they have everything to gain from you burning oil. Well, the "green" industry is exploding as well so there are many others who have a lot to gain in that respect. Not to mention that climate change has given justification for expanding government powers.
Again, absolutely correct balzak. Climate change is predominantly a natural phenomenon. In the beginning, around the time of the Big Bang, the Earth was understandably hot. Step forward a few million years and we entered a very cold ice age, of which there has been several the most recent of which about 15000 years ago. I expect we'll get hotter then experience another ice age somewhere in the very distant future. Man may indeed be responsible for accelerating the warming process, but there's little doubt with time the end result would be the same.
