    To ezinearticles.com?

And if I post articles on ezinearticles.com can I use them for my own content?

Absolutly... that is ideal. You post it on your site and then submit it to article directories.

I don't see why... as long as all the other articles link back to the article on your page... the other sites might get penalized for having your copy ;). lol.

No really... I don't see it being a problem. I could be wrong though... I have been wrong in the past!

The official Google webmaster blog deals with duplicate content quite nicely, basically stating that you should not be too concerned as long as the original content is on your site, meaning mostly your own words even if you borrowed the concept from elsewhere. Anyhow, it is worth reading the Google webmaster blog.

I had a PR2 website and then I wrote some articles for my blog and submitted them to ezinearticles. Now my site has no PR!

Didnt the duplicate content destroy my PR? My site had been PR2 for two years until last month.

Just make sure that the articles in your site match the byline of the articles you submitted to ezinearticles.com. Ezinearticles.com are very strict about this. They want to be sure you own those articles. If not, they will not approve your articles.

However, in my case, I want my site contents to stay where they are. I don't submit them to ezinearticles.com. Instead, I write new sets of articles specifically for ezine submission. The reason for this: I don't want my site's content being used by other sites.

When you submit your articles to article directories, you agree to the terms and conditions set forth by the article directories. One of which is that you allow anyone to get your articles for free, so long as they retain the Resource Box. And I thought, if my site's contents are everywhere, what makes my site any more special?

So what I do, I write articles related to my site with shorter word count. Sort of an introduction of what my site is about or a teaser to the series of articles that I posted on my site.

I use only these two directories, but I get huge traffic from them:

    http://www/ezinearticles.com
    http://www.goarticles.com

I don't support this concept. Keep your content (site) unique.

And, it takes a lot of time to create content for a website - you need to do certain changes to keep your readers happy and to guide them. When you are writing articles to submit in directories only for links, they doesn't deserve so much of time. If I find something (concept or idea) that is not worth adding to my site, I turn it into an article and submit that to one or two directories (a new one every time). - that's it.

    Which is better?

Getting read by a couple of hundred readers, if that, from search engines. That is, IF you are lucky enough to even land on a high page to be seen.

Getting read by thousands from content sites?

Your answer is the answer to your question.

Can you submit a unique article from your website to more than one article site? In other words if I write a unique article for my site can I submit the exact same article to 2 or more article sites. I like what Bluewriter said about making shorter articles for the article site from the one on his website. Again can I submit the shorter article to more than one article site. Sorry to beat this to death but I want everyone to understand what I'm asking.
    Thanks,
    donrock

And if you are penalized, is it the end?

Your success does not center around Google.

Besides, it is overrated, and you can do FAR better.
