Your one of the many blogs I have read that don't like Vista. Hopefully Microsoft learns their lesson and puts consumers first and not what they think consumers want.

Just as anything else, it is impossible to satisfy each and every consumer. There are tons of people who are happy with Vista. The general opinion of THIS forum might be that 'Vista Sucks'. So... you cannot expect Microsoft to interview each and every consumer individually before they launch a product... or do you?

"THIS forum.." is full of many webmasters, that on average understand computers more than the general public, so the general opinion of this forum on issues like this are especially valid.

A consumer buying their first computer probably wouldn't know any better, and might be happy with vista.

Those of us that have important things to do with our computers, and websites relying on us, might have a different opinion.

That's my point. We webmasters are usually judging things technically.
For people who just want to get their job done, Vista is just like any other OS. Infact, for them, it is better.
While for us.. we criticize every single bit and byte of Vista. Every nook and corner.... :)

Windows XP too had flaws when it was first launched. You can't expect something as complex as an OS to be perfect the very first time. Flaws are gradually discovered and patched.

Anyway, I am in no way supporting Vista, since I too use XP and prefer it (because I've been using it for 7 years now... and don't want to change) :D

You do know that you can get your money back as per Microsoft User agreement. That if you don't agree with license you can get your money back.

I bought a Dell with just 512 MB ram. Vista was horribly slow. However, I installed XP and speed increased by about 400%.

    'nough said.

Sine, I bought 2 sticks of corsair 1gb dhx ddr2. Screw vista. It was bad also that I have to confirm every fraking action I take in vista.

So if I purchased a computer running vista How would I go about installing XP? Would I have to buy a copy of it? Or is it possible to get a copy of xp from microsoft to install in place of vista? I know I hate it as running firefox and opening any other program or file is a nitemare. even on 2 gigs of ram

^ Yes! You have to but XP. If your purchasing from someone like dell, you can request XP instead. I don't know if their still doing that, though.

Its funny, XP sales have gone up! Also, there SP3 will be coming out soon that will make it startup/run even faster.

They just complain about Vista because they can't afford to dip in their pockets and upgrade their PC.
