Hi, I have a new site. I keep hearing content is key. So, should i put articles on my home page? Or does it matter where the articles are placed (NOT on the home page)? Do rss feeds help? I mean maybe i am not sure what rss is, but is there a constantly updating news feed that i could place on my website to constantly give new content? My website is the yeast one (3rd in my signature below). Thanks for your help.
hi My sincere advise to you that make google your friend and for any thing you donot know RSS is indeed helpfull for a site. RSS from other site you are talking about for that you will need a rss reader on your site which can put RSS content on your site Regards Alex
better use all the SEO techniques for your site make good content and plenty of back links. Al the SEO tech like forum posting , article submission , rss, link excahnge , bookmarking etc will work every think have little roll in the SEO.. good luck
Well original content will not actually generate backlinks..unless...the article you are writing is informative (i.e. consists tips, advice from experience etc), than yeah that article will generate backlinks. Talking about where to publish your articles, or rather how to publish them is another point of view. You can as well publish your articles in the homepage of your site (as more likely the homepage will be more powerful) but i'd rather keep a nice teasing excerpt in the homepage and link to the post page for more in-depth informations regarding that topic (so you get to eliminate duplicate content the article treats mainly duplicate content on WP blogs, but it helps to give you a clue). In either case you can decide not to publish articles in the homepage (which could be even a bad move, unless you got something smart to put there). In this case I would pay more attention to internal linking to make sure that the spider bots will crawl your new published articles as well as to share some link love with your articles. Another advice I would give you is to make sure that the title of the articles gets as close as possible to the start of the title tag, or even better, remove the keywords (which you also use on homepage) from the title on inner pages (post pages). Hope this does help.
Post a unique content to your site regularly. RSS i-Really Simple Syndication is a xml file. Through RSS you can share content and new update will display automatically.
Content Syndication and Social Media is the key along with quality back links.... Hope you have done the basic on-site optimization of your site.... Rakesh
