    How would I be able to create my own domain name extension?

    Is it expensive?

    create your own?
    as in domain.yourown instead of domain.com?

    that will cost you alot in application fee, trademark fee, and copyright fees
    most like you will be rejected if your extension will not contribute part or whole of the entire community around the globe.
