I used to shoot (for fun & free) for a local entertainment magazine here in town...lots of live music in Austin. Most of the time it was small venues with relatively new or unknown acts (well to me anyway). Though I did shoot a few big ones but not very often, The Used & 311 being the biggest. Here's a few when I was just starting out "Buttercup"
Does anyone go watch live music, outside of massive concerts? Buttercup (2), Icons of Industry, Watch Them Die Bc, IoI are local bands, WTD is a national band though, anyone ever hear of them??
Nope. Never heard of them, except from you. But your pics are cool, as always. Isn't there one that you used to use for your avatar? I remember it looked like the guy was eating his own hand....
Y, it was the WTD guy. I don't expct but maybe 8% of people to have heard of WTD die though, so I'll give you a pass on that one. I had never heard fo them! But after the fact saw their tour advertised in a music mag though! I was like hey! I shot them!!
self defense! I thought he was going to get me! kinda funny, I think the lead singer was my height or shorter! he was quite entertaining though!!
1) money shot for WTD, this one got printed in the magazine. 2) the used, funny thing is that some girl saw the pic on mysp, said the guy yelling with Bert is her friend! last two are The Iguanas (from New Orleans I think)
he was in tents for sure perhaps even scarier was the girl in the crowd...gah I don't have that uploaded though
Nah that was the first metal show I had gone too, I was too scared Just lately Ive started joining in
that's understandable, I was never one to do it myself! 2 more iguanas and Icons of Industry, (my first show)
don't think of it as boring, just refer to it as being toned down! I was pretty old before I saw my first concert...16 or 17 maybe.
I've never done it properly...only from in the crowd. Apart from my mates band who asked me to take photos (along with someone else), didn't really come out very good though, the venue was crap, had too many pillars that got in the way infront of the stage.
it's very tough for a variety of reasons, that certainly being one of them...I was hardcore though...*never used flash!! *Yeah, I rule
