Not really. SEO is still important if you really want to rank highly. If you only depend on content and natural back links, there is no chance for you to get the first spot in competitive keywords.

 

Yes, I do because Yahoo is easier to rank for, and even though the traffic is less, the searchers on Yahoo convert much higher into buyers.

As far as the savvy crowd and getting people to click on adsense, maybe is google is better, but for retail and retail affiliates and getting john and jane doe form dumpwater flordia to buy a blender through your affiliate link, yahoo traffic generally converts 3-5x as much as google traffic

You don't get traffic from them because you don't do SEO for Y.

 

I do optimize primarily for Google, but come on top on Yahoo and Live first most of the time, while it takes months to make a top 10 in Google especially for new sites...

 

I've never heard of anyone SEO for Yahoo. If you get ranked well in Google, the others usually will work themselves out.

 

No, because the amount of traffic from yahoo is less than google, so I concentrate only on google

I read all the above responses and as a seo specialist I have to add that although Google sends much traffic and it is more used than Yahoo , Yahoo also can prove to be a great traffic generator. I know many cases of people optimizing for the Yahoo Search Engine. Few and important examples can be seen in the Stomper Net Seo videos. Maybe few have seen it but take my word for it sometimes it is worth doing seo for yahoo.

 

But I get traffic from Google even without any SEO. Why should I bother with Yahoo?

 

I read an article that yahoo is changing their algathorim so that backlinks that get clicked more are more importent and rank you higher. This is great news for me and i think this is why my yahoo rankings are really on the rise right now.

 

My yahoo Ranks keep increasing and im not doing much.. anyways i wonder how the Yahoo! page Rank works

 

If you do seo for Yahoo, you're ahead of the pack. But if you're a small operation like most of us, there are probably better ways to allocate your time. My two cents

I do get traffic from yahoo 45% for one of my site. but i never did seo for yahoo. i just do seo for google. by the way, what is difference between yahoo and google seo.

 

Most people don't. There is not much traffic coming from them.
