Maybe your reading comprehension is weaker than I imagined, but I think I stressed sufficiently in my previous post that he has the monetary support of a large national base now and in the future, which should have also tacitly implied I am also aware of the obvious fact it cannot extend to votes. It still does not change my original statement, that money buys Congressional elections even more than Presidential elections, in which case, Ron Paul will have that seat until the day he dies/retires.
Did someone mention hyperbole? Huckabee wants to take America up...as in, "in the event of rapture, this nation will be unmanned"?
Ron Paul has had to fight the MSM every step of the way and still has enjoyed some success, some broken fund-raising records, and brought ideas to the forefront of American politics that will be around in elections to come, regardless of his performance. He's also brought in many new voters into American politics that previously didn't care, but now have something to fight for. He's wildly exceeded any expectations thus far, again, regardless of his future performance. Huckabee has been fellated by the MSM for months now trying to prop him up as the dark horse. He has performed well in evangelical centers, but aside from that, he's Ron Paul without the money or the fervent supporters. People want religion without it being forced down their throats, and more importantly, evangelicals love to pick a winner, and they are starting to jump ship.
My reading comprehension is fine. Your necessity to clarify your own comments confirms this. Please don't project your shortcoming onto me. Take responsibility for your inability to properly communicate your, uh, thoughts. Your statement is fantasy. RP is history. Money doesn't buy elections. RP has proven this more than any other candidate I can recall in history.
My necessity to clarify my own comments, if anything, demonstrates your lack of comprehension: I need to add onto what I said originally for you to understand. It's a problem on your end, bud, not mine; I'm sure other posters will confirm that they understood the original intent of my post, in that he has a wide financial support base for future Congressional elections. You still have not contended that Congressional elections don't rely heavily on money, moreso than Presidential elections. May I take this silence as confirmation of your realization that a heavy support base will ensure future Ron Paul speeches in Congress for years to come?
Incorrect. It's your problem. You failed to address those additional points. I've come to expect that from you though. Not just in this post. I never said they don't rely on money. I said money cannot always buy an election. Your own candidate proves that point for me, without you having to twist what I said. RP is history.
Very good point Fletch. Gtech knows already that if Huck pulls out he will get nothing but a barrage from RP supporters especially with his insane barrage of RP bashing posts so let's hope the luatic remains in for his sake. I wonder which lunatic he will start supporting if Huck drops out?? Used Car Salesman Romney? Insane McCain? Americas fake mayor??? Or will he go Democrap?? Love the fellated line too, very true and also very funny.
Name a specific form of search they can do that you feel is unreasonable as defined by the constitution. Name a specific issue of privacy that is being violated. I don't know about GTech but I voted for McCain in my early ballot. The president is the commander in chief. As such we need someone with military experience and a decent sense of how to deal with our happy fun Jihadist friends. I'm hoping he chooses Huckabee for a running mate. Huckabee has good ideas on the domestic issues. Also, since the national government is now in the process of suing people to get access to their land to build the border fence, I think the people's voice has finally been heard. It's interesting that it's a few jerk citizens and not the national government that holding up the fight against illegal immigration. I'm not too worried that McCain will try another shamnesty bill. And I really hope Huckabee has learned that forgiveness does not mean freedom of consequences. He should have told the rapist "great, I hope God has forgiven you so you don't have to go to hell but Jesus didn't let the thief off the cross and we're not letting you out of prison." Hillary and Obama both want to help bankrupt the country with rediculous national health care plans. As soon as the VA hospitals can get their act together, I'll trust the government to provide all citizens with proper care.
Kalvin, just read, A Nation of Sheep by Judge Napolitano. Or you can watch him on Reason TV @ reason.com. All of your questions will be answered.
RP is history. He will be remembered for his racist and disgusting quotes regarding Jews, blacks and his fascination with many of the conspiracies that he still invokes today. Get over it. America will not be dismantled and terrorists will not be given a pass. Bummer, eh?
Ok, specific form of unreasonable search: the "sneak and peek" (which gives the FBI to give delayed notification on the use of a search warrant and more specifically the time of that delay is not mentioned, it simply says "flexible") Specific privacy: so many to choose from, but how about one of the more known ones, listening in on phone conversations
Sigh, don't pull a GTech. Quote his idiocy honestly, and then tell him the truth of the matter. All I know is history books will remember Ron Paul in a positive note; I doubt in 20 years people will even remember who Huckabee was or what he did. Don't stoop to his level and put words in his mouth; leave that skill to him.
There is nothing unconstitutional about listening in on a non-citizen's phone. A citizen of the US cannot grant a non-citizen rights. As such, a citizen gives up their right when they contact a non citizen on a foreign line. So try again on that one. The government has a right to tap the line of a foreigner and you as a citizen should be aware of that. So you can't blame the government when you call someone that the government has every right to listen to. I have no idea what you're talking about with the first one. Ron Paul has been in politics for at least a decade and no one knows what he's actually accomplished. It was recently revealed that the "ghostwriter" that wrote racist and anti-semetic ramblings for about a decade under Ron Paul's name was actually Ron Paul's close friend and advisor. Maybe 60-100 years ago that would be acceptible. I would think Ron Paul would hope history will forget about him.
It's 2 decades actually. I am sure everyone here knows what their reps have done, what they have voted on, where they stand and how consistent their votes are though, right? I've already posted Paul's accomplishments, as well as the number of Bills that have gotten little or no support, but many of the Paul detractors would stand behind, like School Vouchers, Medical Savings Accounts, no taxation on SS benefits, and many bills to reduce taxes. And yet, I have yet to see anyone here who derides Paul's attempts to produce meaningful and useful legislation, defend their Reps' lack of support for these Bills. The saddest one IMO for the pro-life crowd, is Paul's Sanctity of Life Act, which upon passage would immediately repeal Roe v. Wade, without a constitutional amendment. This could be done in less than 3 months. And yet for the last several years, the Reps of other forum members who claim to be pro-life haven't supported this Bill, and I doubt any of the Paul detractors have even bothered to (1) know about this legislation, or (2) contact their Rep asking for support for such a Bill. I find it funny that people without a candidate, and without any admitted participation or knowledge of the process choose to deride those who are actively involved. The mentality being that "apathy is superior to action". So from now on, if you're not willing to be as forthcoming and stalwart as GTech in who you support, please STFU when challenging and harassing Ron Paul supporters. In this circumstance, you're a backseat driver with little meaningful to contribute IMO.
