Must stop doing useless things, must register good names! lol I can't believe it is a $2billion a year industry, if it is that is just insane and I want a share!
It was $12,000,000.00 million not billion, but Porn.com got somewhere in the $10 million dollar range as well.
Wow... wow... wow... and WOW! Things are getting better and better. Wish I had woken up to the possibilities in 90s but then, Internet was not so easily available in my country back then. Missed out on a fortune it seems... WTF! ;-)
this is interesting subject. 12 million for sex.com? it must be nice. I am currently buying domains that I belive will pay some money, but not 12 million , Check my sig for domain reselling business, if you are looking to $ave on domain reg.
Thanks for sharing that video with us. I've seen it before, but I'm sure a number of people here haven't.
domain aftersale market is still very shallow and dominated by few large players....increased awareness about this domain industry will bring new participants and hence depth in sales....
This will bring a new rush of interested prospectors, maybe a good time to sell some.... great video, thanks for sharing!
hoho..must secure my domain collection for future profit from now..urmm... anyone interested in .my domain?
CreditCheck.com - $3,000,000 was mentioned. Good solid name, congrats to the seller! Also not mentioned was Poker.com which recently went for $6,000,000 on auction at Moniker live. A 2 billion dollar a year industry and is expected to double in the next 2 years. I guess I am getting ready to cash in on some of my bank and money com's
Fox News? I guess the domain industry doesn't exist... because I wouldn't trust them to take care of my roomba, let alone educate a populace.
Great publicity for those of us who have entered this business in the past few years. It is still possible to find well-priced names which can be sold to businesses. I disagree that .com is the only extension though - of course .com is king BUT ccTLDs are gaining traction as businesses realize the value in identifying with the people in the country of origin. Unless you believe that the internet is going to disappear soon domain name investments make sense.
depends on the blog... http://frankschilling.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/05/porncom_9_milli.html there is frank's post on it... 9.5 mil.
