We are planning to start worldwide hosting services.. Could you please test the speed for this download? http://www.homehost.com.br/teste/slackware-11.0-install-d1.iso It's a 24mb sample file.. Could you please just post here your average download speed, and then your opinion, if it's ok or not for a webhosting service ? Thanks
I m using 1 GBps Internap Bandwidth. Though, i couldn't manage to get above 270 KB/Sec, if you are planning to run a shared hosting, then its fair enough!
In the US, I'd be considered a top-rate connection for a home-user. So, no. I bet with a standard connection of about 1-2mbps or less, it'd be like trying to transfer on dial-up. I wouldn't use it for shared hosting.
300 KB/s average. 340 tops. I use comcast and my download speed currently is 16 mbps (but max I ever reached was 1 MB/s, not to be confused with 1 mbps)
Got 60k per second, usually get 500k per second on downloads. My server downloads at 3-400k per second. For very cheap shared hosting it'll be fine.
It'll dp. You said south america, is it panama? It'll do for cheap warez hosting if so it is acceptable.
Oh my bad. I should know my countries. I've been in Brazil.... jejejejeje Brazil is next to Uruguay where I was born.
