We are planning to start worldwide hosting services..

Could you please test the speed for this download?

    http://www.homehost.com.br/teste/slackware-11.0-install-d1.iso

It's a 24mb sample file.. Could you please just post here your average download speed, and then your opinion, if it's ok or not for a webhosting service ?

    Thanks

It was about 250 kbps, not bad, pretty good for web hosting. Is this hosted on your home server?

I get around 100kbps speed. I think it's pretty slow.

I m using 1 GBps Internap Bandwidth. Though, i couldn't manage to get above 270 KB/Sec, if you are planning to run a shared hosting, then its fair enough!

Well, on a fast home connection (6mbps), I get about 60kbps.

In your opinion, would it be OK for a cheap shared hosting?

In the US, I'd be considered a top-rate connection for a home-user. So, no. I bet with a standard connection of about 1-2mbps or less, it'd be like trying to transfer on dial-up.

I wouldn't use it for shared hosting.

300 KB/s average. 340 tops. I use comcast and my download speed currently is 16 mbps (but max I ever reached was 1 MB/s, not to be confused with 1 mbps)

Got 60k per second, usually get 500k per second on downloads. My server downloads at 3-400k per second.

For very cheap shared hosting it'll be fine.

About 60k for me, normally I get 100-200k, so it's slow.
