Do you think you will sell more if you get one of those freephone numbers.
I am not convinced either way.

in the UK calls are charged at different cost per minute
    0845 4 pence per min
    0800 no cost...
Do you think an 0800 just gets idiots to ring for a chat, or does it make more sales?

there are a lot of abuse going on with the freephone numbers, I've heard of competitors creating software that dial those phone numbers ever so often to raise the phone bill of the receiving person.

Well I'd certainly be more tempted to ring up if the line was free, but it depends how much it costs to set up the 0800, and run it with people and also the type of product you're selling I guess.

They are pretty cheap, but you have to subsidize the bill.
The only reluctance is that close rate will go down

Get a free J2 voicemail box and leave that number for faxes and calls.
Then when you listen to the messages as a WAV file on your PC you will realise that it is only the utter morons who cant use a computer and can hardly hold a normal conversation on a telephone who will ring that number.

get skype... if theyt are smart enough to use skype and really want to talk to you so badly that they call you over skype vs just messaging you... they they probably are a customer worth speaking too...

i mean you didnt even say what your selling so who knows what kind of advise will help you.

    Cars.
No one really uses skype for that, and personally I would run a mile from a skype up.
