Exactly, it's all talk. He raised taxes when he was in a position of power. Don't trust communists, they'll say anything to get your vote
Are they like Jews? Ron Paul hasn't gotten rid of the IRS either. It's all talk. He's been in office for several years. What exactly has he accomplished?
Exactly. People should just check out the FBI's lack of concern about the hijackers before 9/11 (who they knew were in the country). And then NORAD's utter failure on 9/11. Why didn't the FBI monitor these guys? They were supposedly stopped by airport security on 9/11 before being allowed to proceed. What was the answer to this miserable failure? To create another agency: homeland security. Just look around at the fact that people like Willie Brown (SF mayor at the time) were warned. Again, why didn' the FBI stop these guys? This whole "we only want to protect you" scam is really transparent.
To begin, it has given agencies like the FBI the power to conduct unreasonable searches which go against our 4th amendment rights, not to mention the unwritten right to privacy.
Yeah, they have 2 legs and 2 eyes, and a head. Your problem is that you change subject instead of adjusting your opinion to fit the reality That's your other problem - you omit evidence. You should educate yourself, there is nothing communists fear as much as educated population
He was in the house of representatives and one person certainly doesn't have enough power in Congress to get rid of the IRS. Look at what he has voted for representing Texas because that was his job, not getting rid of the IRS. Before you say "look at what Huck did", I have and he has voted to raise taxes on everything from income tax to sales tax to the internet! I agree 100%, why do you think China is on a never-ending campaign to block sites which have anything about freedom or democracy on them? Information among the people is communism's greatest weakness.
Nicely framed question. The Patriot Act did contain unconstitutional clauses, and they had to be reinstated by the Supreme Court. Your question should be, why did your Rep vote for the Patriot Act, when there was not enough time given to read it? Paul doesn't want to dismantle the military, this is popular anti-Paul rhetoric. He wants to bring the troops home, stop propping up other economies with our military spending, and have that investment made here. I doubt it. Paul is a member of the Mises Institute, which is based around a few Jews who were quite absolutely capitalists. Again, ask your rep why they have never supported his tax relief bills. Ask your rep why they wouldn't support a declaration of war. Ask your rep why they vote for pork spending bills. Ask your rep why they won't cut spending at the federal level. There are 535 members of Congress, 435 in the House. Paul is one man, with an array of impressive legislation, your representatives do not support. Call you rep, and ask them why they wouldn't support, Among dozens of others. I want to know why your rep did not support the SAFE act, introduced one month after 9/11, to restrict visas to people and students from nations on the state sponsored terrorism list? Or why your Rep didn't support the Air Piracy Act, enabling the President to issue Letters of Marque and Reprisal, to allow a true global manhunt for Bin Laden? Before you complain about Paul, let's talk about what part of this system you are holding up, either by pressuring your rep to engage in good legislation, and not vote for bad. Because he has certainly done his fair share trying to make things better for the American people in the House. To the OP's question, Paul will not be dropping out. It's a 50 state campaign all of the way to the Republican National Convention. It will go on for months.
They failed because congress setup barriers for them. Liberals afraid of abuse of powers by the CIA and FBI setup laws restricting their ability to talk to each other in the 70s after Nixon and after congress to powers away from the president. The 9-11 commission goes into it a bit, there was a CIA agent listening to terrorist phone calls overseas but when he dialed a Maryland number he had to stop listening because of the laws regarding wiretaps in the US. In another case the CIA was tracking a terrorist who later came to the United State, the problem was they lawfully couldn't track him in the United States or notify the FBI. That terrorist later was one of the 19 hijackers. The FBI couldn't go into religious establishments because of laws that came into effect after it was released that they followed Martin Luther King into churches. The CIA couldn't work with people who had blood on their hands, and the list goes on and on. Like I've explained before the CIA is like a pit bull except that in the 70s congress put a leash and muzzle on the pit bull and they wonder why it didn't protect them when someone broke in to their house.
I've explained some of the reason why they failed in post #28 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=6189830&postcount=28 Yes they failed no one denies that, there was also reforms put in place and they look like they are working. Now last get past that. The Question becomes if you get rid of the FBI and CIA who will be there to protect us the next time.
Paul doesn't want to do away completely with the role the FBI and CIA perform, but he does want to reform them. It's pretty clear that when the CIA outs one of it's own agents, and destroys video tape evidence, on top of it's role overseas in other countries, it's not performing the job it has been set out to do well. If the logic is that Clinton is to blame for the lack of preparedness for 9/11, then Bush Sr. must be to blame for the 1993 WTC bombing.
They destroyed integration tapes which would of likely been leaked to the NYTimes. They were destroyed to protect the interrogator. As for its role overseas that’s what it was built for to gather information overseas to protect American interest. Also don't you think that the reforms put in place now are working?
Nonsense. They were under order to turn them over to the 9/11 Commission and they lied about it. They could have doctored the tapes to hide the faces of the interrogators. How do you define protect interests? Is it to kidnap foreign nationals? Is it to get weapons and money to anti-government groups? Is it to participate in elections? If they are working, why are we afraid of things being leaked to the NYT? If the CIA can't protect us from the New York Times, heaven forbid we ever face a real existential threat.
What's really puzzling is how Paultards can read consistent, repeated national polls showing RP getting 4% of the vote (even after multiple national debates and tv coverage) and then continue to lie to themselves that people are just close-minded. It couldn't possibly be because RP presents himself as a knee-jerk, reactionary, political quack. Anyone that listens to RP's rhetoric knows it's just hyperbole. RP has no plans to accomplish any of it. Worse yet, he is a total moron on foreign policy, willing to screw our allies and render the USA impotent by slashing our standing armies. Sheesh, Paultards...
You are quite correct. I believe this is the reason many of the islamists here, those openly, and those undercover that tear America down every day and pretend to be something else, support him. The good news is, RP will never get a chance to destroy our country and from what I understand, will probably not serve in Texas again. He's washed up, washed out.
Jesus Christ GTech your new crazy gang recruit nextebizguy hates Ron Paul even more than you do, I really would not have thought that was even possible.
The very good news is your insane, fundamentalist liberal of a candidate that wants to rewrite the Constitution to line up with the Bible is floundering away just as quickly and unlike Paul, has no money for Super Tuesday, so he won't get a chance to derail us even quicker than any other candidate on stage. Plus, you really think Paul won't serve in Texas again? He just found himself a nationwide support base (money wins Congressional elections even more than Presidential ones) to ensure he has his Congressional seat until the day he dies.
I completely disagree. Huckabee wants to take America up. Ron Paul wants to take us back to the days of slavery and dismantle America. Huckabee has money for Florida AND Super Tuesday. Nationwide support of 3% in national polls. Perhaps you are not aware that people outside of his district cannot vote for him in Texas. RP is history. A dark history. He never was, and his supporters proved you cannot buy an election. Americans are better than that
