    Hi,
Today is one of the best day in my life and I am very happy that I have spent three good hours!! You guys might be surprised what I was doing...I was watching a film called "Taare Zameen Par".Though its a hindi movie 9I dont know much hindi) and watched it with subtitles, but I could feel all the emotions in it.I am feeling bad that I watched it in DVD....so will be going to theater next weekend for it.Why is the movie so special. There are million reasons...here are

    1) Its a very fresh message and its really refreshing (No--> love, romance, sex or violence)
2)It is full of inspiring things and it is so close to our life...

I am feeling very happy...that I dont have any words to describe...So if you guys think you have three hour time....Please watch it and I would say that you wont regret. Also please post your views about this movie!!

Please Note:- Even if you dont know hindi you can understand it...It has subtitles and the movie itself speak...No barrier for it...So people all over the world should see it :)

I saw the movie and it was OK. There were many such movies that went unnoticed in India. Because Aamir is a big star people watched TZP.

FYI, Hindi is just one of the 20+ official languages in India, not the only language.

You don't know the Indian constitution for sure. In case you want someone who knows it to remind you, I can help you with this. This is an extract from Wikipedia.

"Article 345 provides constitutional recognition to "official languages" of the union to include any language adopted by a state legislature as the official language of that state. In effect, there are "official languages" at the state and center level but no one "national language"."

I'm sure you've never visited South India. A lot of South Indians do speak Hindi. Also, the low penetration of Hindi in South India has got a lot to do with its political structure, rather than a common man's desire. So, think before you speak.

whatever i have written is from my experience, and yeah i have never been to south india but have lot of south indian friends in delhi working for mncs and all the time they are complaining about not having tamil channels on cable, no tamil movies in theaters etc..........

i am sure north indians don't complain such things when in south.

The reason for that is, we have about ten different North Indian channels here in South, even in small towns. So, you get plenty of entertainment.

    dats wat i m trying to say.

and yeah we have way more north indians in south indian then south indians in north india.....

I didn't mean to start a North vs. South argument in this thread, although I've been through that before. My point is, Hindi need not/cannot connect people all over India. So, English is the best choice.
