If you host it or sell it, you might find it hard to find a payment processor which would be able to support that activity. If it is a web based application, you may also find it hard to add any pay-per-click or pay-per-view advertising program.

Torrent as a technology is not illegal but most of its usage are basically illegal as it is a platform which is heavily used by warez and video and music pirates. I know that technically under law if you do not host the files, you are not breaking any laws but then again you would inevitably be supporting what is illegal.

I doubt it is worth doing it as if there is a sudden change of the law, you will find yourself in a legal hotbed.

Yes, I know about law-based-risks, thats not a problem, laws does not change suddenly, there should be some pre-speculation on it.

I have heared that lots of trackers earning tons of money, and PPC is not a problem as AdBrite accepts any site. have seen lots of warez sites with adbrite, cpx on them.

    Law is not a problem.

Well you answered your own question. Torrent sites are really popular and because they are high traffic sites and adbrite accepts them. You should be good to go :)

On the advertising side of things, you might be a bit better off not having to deal with ad company policies etc by directly selling ads yourself.

Yes, but there is considerable legal risk involved.

To the OP, as long as you fly below the radar, I'm sure everything will turn out fine. You should be careful, however, and make sure you keep the torrents moderated to some extent. It'd also be a good idea to forbid uploading of porn torrents, unless your tracker is specifically focused on the adult market.

    Cheers
