I think this was a bad decision also definitely gives the wrong message I dont know either of them very well but like Im sure most of the directory owners here received submissions from them and was grateful for it but just leaving when things got a bit rough I think has done them more damage than good
@ stormy, discover: How exactly are you guys determining whether someone left or not? Is it because they stopped submitting to directories and/or visiting? You do realize that there was a lot to clean up and rectify, as well as other projects which needed to be tended to, right?
the fact they stopped posting they seemed liked good guys and I wouldnt like to see anyone driven away from a forum because of a bunch of vultures im sure they were busy but arent we all?
Im fairly certain a good majority of us are always busy. Sometimes too busy to post of the forums. However, with them 'leaving', it wasn't the niche, it was the forums, and we all obviously know why they chose to not participate any further. Easy to look up all the threads and hoopla that went on. FWIW - Chris is doing fine and focused on his software. He is still around though.
I dont doubt theyre both still around I think it will do them more damage than could have ever been done by staying here through the worst of it only time will tell
hehe... I'm ranked #6 for aviva directory This is good news, maybe my 30 or 40$ spot I paid for will get indexed again.
Its good to know its back in serp... But questions would a single directory coming back in serps would recover the dent created by G by ousting majority of good directories out of serp? (though others are still out)
@discover ... you think that if a person doesn't post here at dp they loose their value. I mean i think he is better of not posting at all rather than posting irrelevant critism stuff like you post
LOL...i think you posted in the wrong forums, mate Go hide yourself now or even better start educating yourself so you'll know the difference between a link farm and a directory. When you're done with the learning process feel free to get down from the tree and join us ...and by the way...this is a link farm http://www.captainfarris.com/linkhighway.php where did I get that from? From your signature
Im just giving my opinion on how it looks you think its better to not stand up to your detracters and them win? irrelevant is posting your latest template in a thread you started discussing how Aviva got out of a penalty
i dont think the title of the thread said Secret about Aviva and how it got out of penalty .... It said my theory - directory rebound .... so obviously it is my opinion thats why i had my template in it because it was my thread
ok...so we had an earlier PageRank update than we expected, Alive and Aviva and some others got reindexed... what's next from Google ? This will be very interesting to see
you said in this thread after I questioned you about the reasons Aviva was back in google that you would open a thread to explain how it was back and based on your earlier comments you would be telling us how whats it to be.. you know why its back or you think you know?
Wow -what a great news for all the directory owners and the industry as a whole. I always believed Google is not against web directories that offer quality service which is what Aviva and Alive are. May be there are some issues with some directories that Google has put its filter which we need to address. I believe, Aviva coming out of the hole will inspire a lot including me to work hard and get my penalized directory back on track too. Congrats - Jeff.
