EDIT: CNN seems to have the quickest results.

So far Romney has a huge lead as only the rural precincts have begun reporting, with a real dogfight for 2nd place between Paul and McCain. Entrance polls showed 25% of voters are Mormon, with Romney capturing 95% of them, so it's a huge advantage for him. Should be interesting to see how the results change once the bigger counties start getting in results.

This is great so far. I would love a 2nd place finish here, but a 3rd isnt so bad either.

I believe more delegates at stake than South Carolina. Anyone got a good source for how delegates work in the different states? I know some are winner-take-all, some are proportional, some are proportional with a minimum percentage cut-off, etc. I'm interested because numbers mean nothing unless it means you grab delegates.

This is going to be interesting. Insane McCain and Dr. Paul in dead heat for second place. Would love to see RP get second spot, that should get him a lot of MSM coverage.

Bogart, what I meant was a source for how each state works. I think Florida is a winner-take-all system. No idea on the other states though.

Carson City is supposed to be a RP stronghold, but I won't count my chickens before they are hatched. We need to put a 700 or 800 vote count ahead of McCain at the 50% reporting mark before I will start to feel good about second place.

As far as delegates, after the straw poll (relatively meaningless really), delegates are selected to the County Conventions. They will then vote for the delegates to the state convention, which will in turn vote for the delegates to the National Convention.

From the reports I am hearing, Paul is cleaning up on County delegates, he's at worst second to Romney, which means that we should be in the mix at the State convention to take a chunk of the At large delegates.

It's funny watching RP. He's like the little engine that could.

I remember people saying he would never poll at 3%, and here he is moving from a 5th, to two 4ths, and in the mix for a 2nd place finish. It's excellent.

Even with the media blackout, the train keeps on rolling.

    Dear Joseph,

Have you heard? We just won the Democratic caucuses in Nevada. You have done so much to make winning moments like this possible. Thank you!

People across the country are placing their faith in our campaign, especially those hardest hit by the recent downturn in the economy. We can't let them down. We're working together to bring about change, and America is responding to our efforts.

Thanks so much for sharing this remarkable journey with me!

    All the best,
    Hillary

I think Obama is done if he doesn't win SC tonight. Clinton's campaign is moving at a much faster pace.

Speaking of front runners, what the heck happened to Rudy? He's gunna be limping into Florida. He's not only getting beat by RP in 3 primaries so far, he's getting beaten badly. And Fred has beat him 3 times as well, not to mention McCain, Huckabee and Romney.

Remember 6 months ago, when a Giuliani/Clinton Presidency was pretty much assumed?

It will have to be some kind of Diebold miracle in Florida to save his campaign, I think.
