MovableType and Expression Engine are both full featured.

    Hi -

WordPress is tough to beat for Blog software -- many are using it as a full CMS. But I have heard of people using Drupal instead of WordPress. JOOMLA is good for a full blown CMS, but it has a longer learning curve.

Well I can tell you now that b2e lets you have sort of 2 blogs rolled into one but you don't get the great community Wordpress has (there are less themes, plugins etc.)

Man, if you think that WordPress is not the right option for you, then why don't you try Blogger.com? They've very nice service, and free. That's what I use.

in one website I have read about Chyrp. Its good if wordpress looks to complicated to you and you don't want so much functions. Chyrp is brilliant because of its simplicity :)

If you are looking for a more flexible architecture than Wordpress, then I would recommend that you look at ExpressionEngine. However, the flexibility comes at a cost, since it becomes more difficult to develop and switch between themes.

I looked at even more flexible CMSs, such as Joomla and Drupal, but walked away. I think you have to be a professional developer to deal with those platforms. Too many moving parts for my taste.

if you can code in rails, you could make your own custom cms in minutes ... if not .. I would go with Expression Engine
