There's a golden rule to success in the webmaster world. Don't care for search engines. You sites just need to be W3 compliant. Other than that your content should be optimized for users, not Google/Yahoo/MSN. This increases your chances of coming up in the SE results as an average user searches human phrases & not keywords.

    Mainly for Google.
But I'm applying some tricks to live.com too.
    I'm getting:

    37% Google
    11% Live
     7% Msn
     7% Yahoo
rest Direct traffic and other Search Engines

    Code (markup):

But at this point, if I were to answer your question in straight words, I'd say you don't need to SEO for Yahoo, Y! spiders are much more intelligent than Google's, they read content more humanly.

I spend a lot of time and money on Yahoo. And no income any longer. There is no point of doing this.

I think that if you optimize your site for Google, the rest of the search engines will just follow.

That does NOT matter! Believe me! :)

What exactly do you mean by that? Do you mean something like no keyword in title, no keyword in meta, no h1, h2, h3, no bold, no anchor text? No links? Nothing? If yes, then you need to learn more about SEO. :)

I think you should care about search engines. Otherwise its all pointless.

And being w3 compliant is not that important as say the amount of backlinks.
