Yeah i just found another guy doing this an emailed the recipients telling them not to click the link. The guy was reported. There IPs should be reported for phishing.

I agree - never noticed that before. I presume that there is a limit on the number of members one can send a PM to at once (to avoid mass spamming?)

I recognized the PM was a scam just by the language... but it could have been a far stealthier phishing attempt.

Always be careful and watch those URLs.

What a joke...phishing for DP accounts? I just got a PM earlier this morning:
There was a disguised DP link at the top (which I'm not going to link to, for obvious reasons) hosted at freeweb7.com, a free php/mysql hosting service. It perfectly resembled the DP login form, I stupidly clicked it without even looking, but quickly realized it was a phishing site. I've already reported the offending site through their contact form, hopefully they ban them.

I've heard from multiple people that the site connected to those earlier phishing attempts has been banned by hostgator, and hopefully that's the case.

If you've put your information into that form and clicked "Submit" or "Login", make sure you change your password immediately!

Yep, got me too (was before coffee LOL).

Thank goodness I reacted immediately and changed my password, but I'm sure he must have gotten his good numbers of DP accounts so I guess we'll have to be specially vigilant in the next few days.

lol...just to clarify, I didn't actually submit any information through the form.

I know HostGator is very responsive to abuse reports. Problem is it seems the phishers are starting to different use free web hosts, which makes it harder to stop. We just have to increase awareness throughout the forum to stop people from falling for it. Maybe a DP admin can post a some sort of warning in a prominent location of the forum alerting people of the risk.
