I just would like to know who you unbiasedly think is the best rapper. Could be a recent or old school rapper.
I like Eminem for his diversity. I know some people think hes popular just because of the uniqueness of being a successful white rapper, he can be a lyrical genius. It's also nice to see a rapper that sings about a larger subject matter than just how pimpin/gangsta he is.
Eminem is the best rapper for me, his songs are usually funny but some of his work has a lot of anger in them.
Eminem would have to be up there, not really sure who else I could put on par with him. If you'd talk about rappers then i'd have to say Bone Thugs n' Harmony as they were brilliant back in the day.
All time I'd say either Rakim, KRS-One or Kool G Rap (the later has flow that's still > the rest of the game) Currently... ehhhhh that's a tough one, but Talib, Freeway, Jigga, and Insight are among those that put in nice albums this past year.
Heh, he's aight... perfer Jedi Mind Tricks for my dose of "horrorcore" rap tho. Vinnie Paz > your favorite horrorcore rapper
I love JMT although I've never seen Pazzy as a horrorcore rapper. For that matter, I'm not really into horrorcore; still annoyed from hearing ICP bullshit As for my favorites, I don't really have a "favorite rapper" but I listen to a lot of Immortal Technique, Canibus, Biggie, old school Nas, KRS-One, Army of the Pharaohs (especially Apathy and Celph Titled; check out their punchlines ), Atmosphere, Talib Kweli, all of Wu-Tang etc... underground stuff mostly. btw, did anybody cop Proof's "Searching for Jerry Garcia"... never thought I'd like it, but I surprisingly found him a good lyricist (as opposed to the rest of the D12 gang). I'm more into political rap so Eminem doesn't hold a lot of appeal for me (I do enjoy his songs once in a while though). Illest rapper ever would be me though
