Had the jw's stop by again about noon... averages about 2-3 times a month. I then realized I am 1/2 mile from the building that lets no light inside.

Why don't they ever come by when most of the working people would be home? I work from home, so I am an exception.

Col, as one who doesn't believe in the divine, and, even when I was a believer, as one who embraced the concept of free will, I don't believe that governments are anything other than the people that fill and run them. But, in terms of human life, here and now, I can certainly go to sleep under a Deist vision - that God has in essence set the rules of play, and is holding off intervention until Armageddon, over "Rulers as Agents" of God's plan - a heck of a lot better.

There's nothing stopping you from asking them isn't there?

    That's an interesting opinion.

my opinion on the Bible is that maybe you are not to intrepute it literally but to understand the concepts, such as the following quote for example

people should not kill but if they do they should be punished

I cant respect a book that claims it is the reason and creator of life when it is not literal and has contradictory pieces of so called 'information' inside it. A book which claims so much should not leave us to decide how to interpret it because different people will interpret it in different ways.

To this, I myself isn't sure, just IMHO, God will never anoint an evil government or man. But I am no religion scholar, do correct me if I am wrong. I would love to hear others' views and opinions of this too.

not sure why people hate on JW's so much, they are the nicest people you will ever meet, Some of the most popular preachers are total pricks who think they are above everyone else because they are preachers. But JW's are very kind people, you literally could yell in there face and they wouldn't think any differently of you.

Not to mention they have some sort of student exchange thing going on where they bring people from other countries in and i gotta say, those chicks from south america are FINE! to bad they don't put out... haha

Thank you for this excellent post killafawk. Finally, someone with a real experience of meeting up and talking with our people. It's a sad thing when so many people attack us without ever stepping a foot in our direction to find out about us. Listening to other's comments and then believing those comments without finding out themselves really shows how many in today's world thinks. So many are quick to judge without any evidence at all.

Again, thanks killafawk. You just made my day :)

I do disagree with that, but IMHO, it is definitely not retarded, he has his own reasons for stating that and I respect the differences. I do not think it is appropriate to comment on others' differences as retarded etc. In such a discussion forums mutual respect is essential though we may differ from each other.

sometimes it's best to call a spade a spade.

Why should someone be respected simply for mustering the intellectual capacity to formulate something which can technically be described as an opinion?

Look at what simpleg said a bit closer.
    He seems to be under the impression that either;
    a) god decreed that Hitler and Saddam should run countries, or
    b) his imaginary god only decides who runs america, And as an extension of that the sheepish imbeciles who are slaves to that retched government should bow down to their heavenly chosen leader and go along with whatever actions he takes.

As if the idea that god would pick a retarded drunkard as leader isn't funny in it's self.

I believe God establishes the governments because it states it in the bible. it tells us to submit to those authorities, unless those authorities ask us to sin. If the leader tells us to go kill an innocent person, just for his amusement, then we should refuse.

Due to your lack of belief in the bible i don't expect you to understand, but you should at least respect that that is my belief. I don't know why God does some of the things he does, but i know that it is done for the best of his kingdom, which i and other believers will reside for eternity.

IMHO as this is a public forum, some words aren't very nice published on the Internet and indexed by Google for all to see.

I would urge respect for each other's religions or lack of religions.

Why do people believe that religion deserves superior respect to other theories. I wonder how many people respect Scientology? most will laugh at it.

It is a numbers game if a lot of people believe in something it has to be respected.
If half the world believed we were ruled by the flying hot dog monster that lived in the sky and someone were to laugh at it, the person who laughed at it would be labeled 'disrespectful'.

Religion is a theory with little evidence that causes a ridiculous amount of unnecessary conflict.

My respect for the theory of religion is close to 0.

brb...got to go burn some more bibles.

I beg to differ, but it is your right if you had chosen to be so and to do what you said you would.
