1CentSites.com I have started a new website business called 1CentSites.com. Basically I am selling a Website + Domain Name + Installation + Support for just $0.01. If you could take a look at my site and tell me what you think I would really appreciate it. I personally designed and built this site from scratch, so I would like to hear some feedback if possible. Thank you!
Nice looking site but it's hard for me to believe anyone who would give so much away for so little. I think you need to tell people why (up-front and big) you're doing this.
It is noted that the newly purchased website must stay hosted with me for one month at a cost of $9.95. Domains cost about that price, so in I am not making any money off orders. If the customer decides to keep their website hosted with me after one month they will continue to pay $9.95/month from then on. The total for an order comes out to $9.96 and this is all a customer is required to pay ever. Basically its like giving away a cell phone to sell the plan if you can picture that. Regardless, I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to pay $9.96 for a website + .com domain + hosting + installation + support. Thanks for your comments.
I make money if people choose to continue to host with me. When you buy a site you choose what you want your domain name to be.
Site looks great and I love the name. I think you are crazy though. I think unless you market to people who know nothing about web hosting, you will lose your shirt. I do not know now days anyone who pays $9.95 a month hosting unless it is really big hosting plan. It may work if you find a place to market to newbies who are just getting their first site. I do think it is a great deal though. If I were to buy one, I for one would buy it and with in the first month transfer it out to a cheaper hosting service. I would recommend a three month hosting minimum, that a way, you can make a profit and it is still a good deal for a fully operational site. JMO Either way you go, the site looks great and good luck!
I will think about the 3 month hosting idea. I'm not sure what I would charge for that though. I would like to keep the price below $10, but $10 for 3 months of hosting is a bit low.
I would say something like $19.95 hosting for three months and $9.95 after that. If you keep it under $10 you will barely break even. Even at discounted prices, most domains cost you $7.99. I seen this done very successfully for $35 bucks on eBay. I bought one of my first sites for $35 for a year of hosting but I got crapped on because the guy registered with Ipower which was running a $1.99 the first year deal and it was a bitch to get it transfered to someone where else because the guy paid for it with his credit card and they did not want to transfer it to another register unless I had the security code off the credit card. The second year he wanted $75 for hosting.
Dude... decent site, very clean look... a very common site design though. And since I'm a total imbecile on domains and prices, no comments there.
Well I am registering all domains at NameCheap.com so you cant really go wrong there. As for hosting. I will not raise my rates to ridiculous prices. $19.95 for 3 months seems reasonable and then $9.95 after. I will look into that. I would like to try my model on eBay this week and see how that goes. Thanks for the kind words vibinhari.
Good business scheme - break even on the initial deal, and then make money when people can't be bothered or don't know how to move a site.
This really sounded like a great deal until i went to your website and saw that your site had been hacked
