    murder starts in the heart

No we are to obey Gods commandments to the best of out ability, we dont use it as an exscue to get away with things we really try to uphold his commands.

God decides who lives or dies, yes, was hitler a murder? What was in his heart?

I wouldn't try to argue with stox, his motive is to make you look foolish and it will be a rabbit trail with no end. He refuses to learn anything, but instead just tries to make you trip up somewhere, which being human isn't hard to do.

He hates Christians almost as much as he hates Jews, but then again a humans come in 5th place as his most hated, so you can't take it personally. He has a fascination with hitler and I don't doubt at all that he idolizes much of hitlers accomplishments such as killing Jews, Christians and others that are lesser evolved unlike him.

I wonder how much stox hates the fact that people let handicapped children live...

Debunked, I am in agreement with Stox here. An ad hominem attack on him does nothing to address the extremely salient illogic of Simply's thoughts. And the implications for Simply's contentions are important:

"Thou shall not kill" cannot be misinterpreted. Unless it is.

Governments, and all wordly actions are ordained of God. Therefore, a decision to initiate the destruction of the earth necessarily follows from God's plan.

Indeed, any action, however vile, is ordained of God.

Further, any action, however vile, is "washed away" by Christ's sacrifice. So, try to obey the commandment. But so help me, if I can't stop myself from mass murder, that's cool - it's all washed away.

Northpoint, i have stated my case and its rather simple

    1. I would hate to ever have to kill anyone
    2. If i did kill someone it would be a sin
    3. Turning the cheeks is very hard for me due to a proud nature, but its a work in progress
    4. I believe if freedom were to be at risk, i would fight for it.
    5. You may have went to church, and maybe you called yourself Christian, but you were never saved. Once a person is saved, He remains saved.
    6. If we Christians use Gods ordination as excuses to get away with things, why do we try so hard to do good? I'm not speaking for all, but most chistians i know, genuinely want to please God, by being obedient to his word. We dont say lets go out ans pick on some old lady, its OK God will forgive us. That is not my train of thought, nor is it 90% of Christians train of thought.

    Read that somewhere, did you?

Hmm...I'm sniffing a pattern. As a 14 year old preacher, who very much took the Bible literally, and lived it, in my heart and actions - I wasn't saved. And Obama, a man professing Christian faith, and living the life as an active member of his Church for half his life, isn't a Christian, either? Curious - did God also ordain you to deem who is saved, and who isn't?

I'm sure that's true. But your logic excuses all actions, and ordains all actions, however destructive, with the imprimatur of "God's Plan."

Why do people choose to not believe in God and religion. Is it because they cannot prove him. Is the inability to prove His existance the cause of this? Or is there some other reason? I would really appreciate a list of reasons.

    yes the bible

"And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby YE ARE SEALED unto the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:30

". . .after that ye believed, YE WERE SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise," Ephesians 1:13

    John 10

27 My sheep recognize my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me,

29 for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. So no one can take them from me.

and many more, but this should make my point.

Where did i say Obama was not a christian, from what i remember i only questioned if he was, i said i wouldnt believe it simply on his word. Hitlers word was that he was a christian.
yeah i guess it does, but why does that matter, if we are trying to do good?

Have you ever wondered that comparing God's logic to ones own logic is ridiculous. How can you compare a nusrey kids knowledge to a PHd in physics? Ofcourse the kid will laugh at the professors knowledge.

I am telling it how I see stox, let me know if there is proof otherwise.

The more accurate translation of the Hebrew word to be 'murder'. It is stox goal or his own confusion to try and ridicule Christians and Jews and to build up his pride when he accomplishes such.

If I kill someone while protecting my children I see nothing in the Bible that would say that I would be going to hell for that. If I kill someone due to my own desires then I would expect judgement. My family, especially my children are put in my care, I am their protector, to do less than that would be a sin.

"he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness" mark 3:29

That verse clearly says that someone who denies the holy spirit NEVER has forgiveness. I hate to say it, But north is far from "saved" and he is never going to be forgiven.

I guess you only read/quote/pick the bits that support whatever point you happen to be making at any given time. Hey, that sounds a lot like selective interpretation doesn't it!

I'm not even going to start on debunked's desperate argument from mistranslation thing.

Debunked, we all know - Stox and I don't get along. But that doesn't mean a wholesale dismissal of his points. I have no agenda. I agree with him here, for the many reasons we both have posted. Simply's logic simply doesn't hold (pun intended).

Just curious - can I ask - do you, too, hold that it is impossible I was once a Christian, but am no longer?

For someone claiming to be a former preacher, you know nothing of what it meant to be a Christian.

It means accepting Christ as your Saviour. You obviously didnt accept him, or you would still be walking with him, unless.... you are destined to return, which could be the case.

All I'm saying is that it is biblical, once you accept Christ, its for good. Sure we slip we fall, but we get up.

First, please learn to use the quote function properly - it's very difficult to read.

Secondly, nowhere in the above texts does it say what you contend. You may interpret all you would like, but again, it answers nothing. I did believe - to the point of giving the world entirely up - as a 13-15 year old kid, living in solitude and commitment in literal acceptance of the Bible. I don't any longer. You've posted nothing.

Secondly, if you don't understand what circular reasoning is, refuse to investigate it, and only say, "well, the Bible just says, uh...you're a dummy head, and that's good enough for me!" then there isn't any point to continuing the conversation. Something along the lines of:

I'm sorry - was that you I saw, 30 years ago, walking beside me in my Christian walk?

Yes, I understand you can repeat your talking points. Again, tautology (please look it up, or just close):

I see that your world is enshrouded in tautology - and I find that dangerous as hell. A guy toting a machine gun, who "wants to fight," who says "thou shall not kill" cannot be misinterpreted; a guy who says all actions are excusable, by "washing away"; a guy who says all actions, to the destruction of the world, are ordained of God; and so on.
