I just looked at the age of your first sight 5 months or so old. You can expect this jumping around untill they get older I have found. My aged sites over 1-2 years never move, my younger sites jump around that are less than one year. Call it the Google Dance or whatever.

Another funny thing I noticed today:

#23 for "Dash Kits" on Google is the 149th New York Infantry website. How it ranks higher than my website or in the top 25 I don't know....but this is hilarious.

I haven't checked your sites, but another possibility was your server was down for a period of time without your knowledge. So check your error logs shortly before you noticed a SERP drop.

Thanks for posting I was actual waiting for you, in particular, to post because your have some extensive SEO knowledge and have provided some very useful information for other DP members on this forum. I have checked my logs and I also check most of my websites daily and I don't believe they were ever down for any extensive amount of time so this shouldn't be the issue.

If you are having trouble with too many interlinked sites on the same IP address, you have several choices:

    1. Pay the $3 a month or whatever it is for unique ip's
    2. Spread out your sites to different unrelated hosting plans (i.e. put one on hostgator, one on bluehost, 1 on godaddy, etc.) This is called silo-ing.
    3. Try hostgator's new SEO Hosting. There aren't any affiliate links to it so I won't be paid if you do it, but it might solve your problem if you want to keep all your sites on one host.

    Good luck.

Thanks. I will have a look over them when i get a minute, i just wanted to rule out downtime as a cause before digging deeper... Which would make sense being all hosted on the one server.

Have you got any sites on that server that didn't get slapped, or did the whole lot take a tumble?

If there's an unaffected site or two it's good to analyze it as well to see what it either did or did not do in comparison to the others. But i'll definitely look over them for you when i finish up a couple of things.

Edit: Just a note before i forget, your DashKitCovers site seems to of had the biggest drop. On that one can you take out:

    <meta name="revisit-after" content="30 days">

Just remove it completely, you don't want to limit the bots in any way and just let them come and go as they please. Also in your footer you have a number of links commented out with <!-- --> tags, i'd remove this code and links completely because Google still see's it.

Also the end of your Title tag is: Car Trim categories_name -

I'd remove the categories_name - because it's diluting your Title weight and doesn't serve any purpose with the SERP's.

Also your stock Robots.txt i don't like, you need to ditch it and create one specifically for your site. Plus you have nearly 1,000 pages with duplicate Titles and descriptions, see here. Can you create relevant and custom ones for every page with your script?

Thats letting you down big time. Google done a deep crawl just before the PR update, so chances are it picked up on these and devalued things.

Thanks for your help! In addition to those sites listed, I also hosted EclipseCarTuner.com which I still host and previously owned up until about 2 months ago (but heavily interlinks with all my websites still). This site did not get "slapped" at all, however, it is also an older website than my other sites (nearly a year old). My only concern was that maybe all my IP #'s were too close. I went and purchased dedicated IP's for a few of the sites yesterday, but they still gave me (godaddy) the same C-Class IP's for those sites.

In addition to what i mentioned above, your script has a Fatal Error and Google is starting to hit these.

    here

    It's all your choose-from pages.

Ya I recently started a website overhaul, which caused this error, the bad title tags, etc., however many of those issues were not present when the sites rankings fell on Jan15th (I started the overhaul on the 17th). However, many others you mentioned were a problem that was present on Jan15th when my sites rankings fell like the robots.txt and the meta tag. I will be working on fixing all these issues tonight and we shall see what Google does :) Thanks.

The interlinking of your sites can be a problem not only with the same IP address but also depending on how the site is registered. If you have sites interlinking with each other with site wide links that are on the same IP address, you will get slapped but you can also get slapped again if those sites are all registered the same way. I had heard that Google is clamping down on people building their own link networks and even moving to different servers isn't helping get around the algo sinc eGoogle can now factor in the WhoIs info as well.

I'm new to this, so could someone please tell me how you're finding out what your sites' rankings are? I'd like to check mine out and see where it is, but don't know how. Thanks!
